<p>Position Title: Elementary School Teacher Grades: Elementary Reports To: Co-Principals Closing: Until Filled</p> <p>Each teacher shall be under the general direction of the Superintendent of Schools, but immediately responsible to the principals for the carrying out of policies of the board as they relate to the functions of the school, the classroom, and immediate contact with pupils and immediate contact with the pupils and parents. The teacher's specific responsibilities shall be:</p> <p>1.To direct and evaluate the learning experience of the pupil in both curricular and extracurricular activities. 2.To provide guidance to the pupil which will best promote his/her welfare and his/her educational development in accordance with his/her abilities. 3.To be responsible for pupil records and accounting as now required by the board or by statute. 4.To maintain the most pleasant, friendly relationship possible with the parents. 5.To execute the instructional program as directed by the principal and superintendent. 6.To provide for the care and protection of school property. 7.To cooperate with and participate in the planning and the evaluation of the school program. 8.To take part in the in-service education program of the schools. 9.To maintain cordial and workable relationships with colleagues. 10.To secure the highest type license for which he/she is eligible. 11.To submit to the supervision and comply with the direction of the superintendent and the principals in all matters relating to the instruction of the students in his/her care. 12.To maintain such relationships with his/her students as is conducive to and consistent with desirable progress and growth in all areas of good citizenship. 13.Assume responsibility for overseeing student behavior in class, during lunch, recess, activity periods, between classes, and during extra-curricular activities.</p> <p>EDUCATION and or EXPERIENCE: Arkansas Elementary Teacher License is required.</p> <p>The Guy-Perkins School District is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
