<p>NATURE OF WORK:</p> <p>An employee hired for this position performs a variety of technical and computer support functions for the student information system that RCS uses. Work would involve knowledge of student accounting procedures and regulations, source data, and the functionality of the student information system in order to support the school in operations. Work also involves generating federal, state, and local reports when needed. The employee must communicate effectively with a wide variety of administrators, teachers, students, office staff, counselors, central office staff, previous or future educational institutes, and parents/guardians.</p> <p>SPECIFIC JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND FUNCTIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Maintains and utilized the computerized student information system that is used by Rutherford County Schools. (Powerschool) </li><li>Selects data from varied sources and summarizes/analyzes information for standard reports to building and school system administrators and State Department of Public Instruction. </li><li>Prepares local reports as needed for school needs </li><li>Prepares and/or maintains computer records of student attendance; enters data from submitted forms; reviews late arrival/early dismissal forms provides; enters and reconciles late arrival forms of all students at location. </li><li>Prepares attendance reports as needed. correspondence of these reports may need to be sent to parents or guardians frequently. </li><li>Generates, maintains, and distributes student demographic, scheduling, and grading information. </li><li>Maintains records of student suspensions, withdrawals, transfers, etc in the computerized student information system used. </li><li>Provides assistance with other school employees that may need assistance with the use of Powerschool. </li></ul> <p>KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES NEEDED:</p> <ul> <li>General knowledge of computers and computer commands. </li><li>Ability to work with a high degree of accuracy. </li><li>Knowledge of attendance regulations in the Student Attendance and School Accounting Manual. </li><li>Considerable knowledge of data management, policies, and procedures. </li><li>Ability to assist others without hesitation. </li><li>Ability to exercise independent judgement in correcting errors or issues as needed. </li><li>Ability to communicate well with other school personnel, parents/guardians, students, and central office staff while complying with the confidentiality requirement in local, state, and federal policies and status. </li></ul> <p>DISCLAIMER</p> <p>The preceding job description has been designed to indicate the general nature and level of work performed by employees within this classification.
