<p>Responsibilities for this Position</p> <p>Test Engineer - CWITT</p> <p>US-CT-Groton</p> <p>Job ID: 2026-19139</p> <p>Type: Full-Time</p> <p># of Openings: 3</p> <p>Category: Engineering</p> <p>EB Groton Shipyard</p> <p>Overview</p> <p>C5I Integration & Test Engineers utilize their operational, maintenance, and subject matter expertise to support the design, development, and testing of Non-Propulsion Electronic Systems (NPES) for new-construction U.S. Navy nuclear submarines. Leveraging cutting-edge technology and advanced engineering practices, these roles provide critical expertise across the VIRGINIA and COLUMBIA submarine programs.</p> <p>Opportunities within C5I Test and Engineering span the entire system lifecyclefrom initial concept and design through development, hardware/software integration, system testing, and final delivery aboard the submarine. Beyond new construction, engineers also contribute to sustaining the operational fleet through the analysis and resolution of in-service issues, evaluation of obsolescence concerns, and execution of NPES modernization initiatives to maintain the Navys technological edge.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Task management skills to coordinate, direct, and participate in diverse test evolutions and troubleshooting efforts </li><li>Knowledge, skill, and ability to read and interpret system drawings, diagrams, in relation to Non-Propulsion Electronic Systems (NPES) </li><li>Candidates must be able to interact on various levels with personnel from Electric Boat (Subordinates, peers, Supervisors and Managers) as well as the Customer </li><li>Familiarity with submarine construction and test philosophies </li><li>Installation and configuration, network administration of networking systems, routers, and switches </li><li>Demonstrated ability to prioritize and concurrently complete multiple assignments as required in addition to de-confliction skills </li><li>Strong communication skills; ability to communicate with management and technical personnel on various levels </li><li>Strong problem solving skills </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Required:</p> <ul> <li>High School Diploma or equivalent </li><li>A minimum of 5 years of hands on experience relevant to maintenance, testing, and troubleshooting and repair of Virginia Class Non-Propulsion Electronic Systems (NPES) </li><li>Current active DoD Secret clearance </li></ul> <p>Preferred:</p> <ul> <li>US Navy Instructor Certification </li><li>Fiber optics experience </li></ul>
