<p>The Office of Exceptional Learning is seeking a Vocational Coach/College Liaison for students in the Transition Program at Brockton High School for the 2025-2026 School Year.</p> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Minimum of Bachelors Degree; Masters Degree preferred - in Education, Social Work, Counseling </li><li>Experience working with students with disabilities and their families (preferably transition-aged students 14 and above), in public school, college settings, and in the community </li><li>Familiarity with the Brockton community, including local colleges/universities and public transportation </li><li>Flexible schedule to accommodate coverage/student schedules at colleges and in community </li></ul> <p>Duties and Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Work collaboratively with the Transition Team and BPS staff members across special education programs for older students with disabilities </li><li>Work collaboratively with community partners including colleges and state and local agencies </li><li>Provide direct service staffing to students attending college programs </li><li>Attend students' college classes/meetings/internships/activities </li><li>Design and provide academic support and coursework assistance to college students </li><li>Implement students' accommodations as set forth by college Disability Services </li><li>Support students in self-advocacy in working with their professors/instructors </li><li>Support students in gradually and safely developing skills toward independence </li><li>Provide travel/transportation training to students as needed </li><li>Communicate with students' parents/guardians as needed </li><li>Create, update, and manage individual student schedules </li><li>Collect student data for progress monitoring </li><li>Regularly update relevant BPS school staff on students' college progress and related activities </li><li>Regularly attend Board Meetings at colleges as BPS representative </li><li>Attend Special Education Department Meetings as needed </li><li>Assist Transition Specialists and Job Coach as needed/assigned </li><li>Work hours: 8 a.m. - 3:05 p.m. </li></ul> <p>Reports to: Assistant Director of Special Education for High Schools</p> <p>Compensation: According to contract</p> <p>Funding: IDEA Grant 0240</p> <p>All staff must have an updated CORI on file.</p> <p>Refer any questions to Jami Langley at jamilangley@bpsma.org</p>
