<p>Requisition No: 866433</p> <p>Agency: Children and Families</p> <p>Working Title: ELIGIBILITY SUPERVISOR - SES - 60033845</p> <p>Pay Plan: SES</p> <p>Position Number: 60033845</p> <p>Salary: $1,577.46 - $2,869.69 Bi-Weekly</p> <p>Posting Closing Date: 12/19/2025</p> <p>Total Compensation Estimator Tool</p> <p>Eligibility Supervisor- SES</p> <p>Location: This position will be in Tampa (Hillsborough County) or Largo (Pinellas County). Applicants interested in working in counties/cities other than Hillsborough or Pinellas County will need to apply for positions advertised for those specific areas on the People First System.</p> <p>This position is for an Eligibility Supervisor - SES in the Tampa Service Center or North Pinellas Service Center. Teleworking is not an option for SES positions. Some travel will be required. Facility is a tobacco free environment.</p> <p>The bi-weekly salary range for this position is $1,577.46 - $2,869.69.</p> <p>The individual occupying this position is responsible determining initial and ongoing eligibility for social service programs, including reviewing, and analyzing error-prone and complex cases to evaluate the quality and quantity of services, conducting trainings, and monitoring staff as appropriate.</p> <p>EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED:</p> <ul> <li>Supervise Eligibility Staff. </li><li>Communicate with, motivate, train and evaluate employees' performance; plan and direct their work. </li><li>Reviewing and analyzing error-prone and complex cases to evaluate the quality and quantity of services. </li><li>Conducting training and mentoring staff. </li><li>Planning, evaluating, leading and guiding staff towards continuous quality improvement. </li></ul> <p>Lead their team in such a manner that enhances customer service and the goals of the agency.</p> <p>KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:</p> <ul> <li>Excellent people skills. </li><li>Knowledge of public assistance program objectives and policies. </li><li>Knowledge of interviewing techniques. </li><li>Knowledge of methods of compiling, organizing, and analyzing data. </li><li>Knowledge of applicable mainframe systems and software applications. </li><li>Excellent skills in operating a personal computer. </li><li>Ability to supervise people. </li><li>Ability to set goals, delegate tasks and monitor performance. </li><li>Ability to coordinate the operations and activities of a unit. </li><li>Ability to interpret and apply complex information concerning policies and procedures related to ESS programs. </li><li>Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships. </li><li>Ability to develop and deliver public presentations. </li><li>Ability to investigate complaints. </li><li>Ability to meet and deal with the public in a variety of situations. </li><li>Ability to compose documents involving technical information. </li><li>Ability to interpret and apply regulation materials. </li><li>Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines. </li><li>Ability to establish and maintain effective communication. </li><li>Ability to coach, mentor and develop team members. </li><li>Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. </li><li>Ability to apply ethical business practices. </li></ul> <p>MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS</p> <ul> <li> <p>Two years of work experience in a position where the major responsibility was determining eligibility, conducting interviews, providing counseling, recruiting, billing, or collecting accounts, checking credit, processing insurance policies or claims or providing customer service.</p> </li><li> <p>OR an associate's degree or higher from an accredited college or university can substitute for the work experience.</p> </li><li> <p>OR 60 semester hours or 90 quarter hours can substitute for the experience.</p> </li><li> <p>Two years or more of supervisory experience leading a diverse team.</p> </li><li> <p>Must be willing to travel.</p> </li></ul> <p>PREFERENCES</p> <ul> <li>Experience with process improvement, performance management, project management or employee engagement. </li><li>Bachelor's degree in business management, project management, entrepreneurship, accounting, hospitality, human resources or a related field. </li><li>Preference will be given to those who have at least two years of ESS experience. </li></ul> <p>The State of Florida is an Equal Opportunity Employer/Affirmative Action Employer, and does not tolerate discrimination or violence in the workplace.</p> <p>Candidates requiring a reasonable accommodation, as defined by the Americans with Disabilities Act, must notify the agency hiring authority and/or People First Service Center (1-866-663-4735).
