Westminster University is a member of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA II) and the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.</p> <p>Application Instructions:</p> <p>Please apply directly through Westminster University's Career Job Board.</p> <p>Minimum Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree. </li><li>2+ years of relevant work experience. </li><li>Demonstrate record of success in coaching and recruiting student athletes at the collegiate level. </li><li>Ability to work independently. </li><li>Strong leadership, motivational and organizational skills. </li><li>Effective interpersonal and public relation communication skills. </li><li>Ability to create a positive atmosphere conducive to learning. </li><li>Ability to work in a team-oriented environment with high standard sand goals. </li><li>Commitment to high academic and professional standards. </li></ul> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Assist the head coach with the recruitment and retention of qualified student athletes.</p> </li><li> <p>General knowledge of intercollegiate athletics and experience in coaching basketball.</p> </li><li> <p>Assist with coaching during practices, games, and camps.</p> </li><li> <p>Assist with scouting of opponents and game video review with team.</p> </li><li> <p>Assist the head coach with administrative tasks as assigned which includes following but not limited to:</p> </li><li> <p>Travel arrangements</p> </li><li> <p>Overseeing academic progress of student athletes</p> </li><li> <p>Team equipment</p> </li><li> <p>Fundraising activities</p> </li><li> <p>Community service</p> </li><li> <p>Compliance with institutional, conference and national governing regulations.</p> </li><li> <p>Required to provide and/or secure and maintain CPR, AED and First Aid Certification.</p> </li><li> <p>Commitment to welfare and development of student athletes within the NCAA II philosophy.</p> </li><li> <p>Work closely with other staff to promote intercollegiate athletics as an integral part of the university learning environment and support the academic success of student-athletes.</p> </li><li> <p>Perform all responsibilities with the highest ethical standards consistent with the University's mission, vision and values which include diversity, equity, and inclusion.</p> </li><li> <p>Perform other duties as assigned.</p> </li></ul> <p>Intercollegiate Athletics Compliance Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Maintain knowledge of and comply with NCAA rules and regulations. </li><li>Follow all institutional, conference, and NCAA regulations. </li><li>Must attend required meetings and trainings associated with compliance duties. </li><li>NCAA violations may result in disciplinary action. </li></ul> <p>Additional Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Regular travel throughout the year and/or at specified times of the year will be required. </li><li>Ability to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, and crouch required. </li><li>Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds required. </li></ul> <p>Operational Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Schedule outside normal business hours some. </li><li>This position will require some irregular work schedule including days, nights, weekends and some travel. </li></ul> <p>Equal Employment Opportunity:</p> <p>Westminster University is committed to a diversified workforce, equal opportunity, and nondiscrimination.
