<p>A Specialty Trainer will take direction and assist instructors with the facilitation of classroom activities and technical, operational, and/or specialty training events. Applicants will share their knowledge and expertise defined by fields of expertise/certification. Qualified applicants will participate in educational/training needs assessments, skills practicing and student completion of the program. </p> <p>When accepting an assignment as a specialty trainer, individuals may not lead said course.</p> <ul> <li> <p>Assist in the achievement of course curriculum goals and objectives. Delivers group and individual instruction and training. </p> </li><li> <p>Assess student performance and provide immediate feedback to successfully meet course objectives. advise students on successfully meeting course objectives </p> </li><li> <p>Evaluates effectiveness of training and development programs. Utilizes relevant evaluation data for feedback and recommendations to enhance instructional objectives and methods. </p> </li><li> <p>Remain current in practices, trends and research related to areas of specialization or assignment. </p> </li><li> <p>Employ appropriate assessment techniques to measure student performance in achieving course goals and objectives. </p> </li><li> <p>Identify students who are in need of additional instruction to successfully complete the course objectives and provide additional instruction to those students as directed. </p> </li><li> <p>Comply with college policies and procedures and department guidelines. </p> </li><li> <p>Attend and participate in department meetings as directed by the department head.</p> </li><li> <p>Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.</p> </li></ul> <p>Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: </p> <ul> <li> <p>Technical Diploma in an EMS-related field AND 2 years (4,000 hours*) of relevant occupational experience. </p> </li><li> <p>EMS Instructor I OR the ability to obtain within 3 months of hire</p> </li></ul> <p>PLUS</p> <ul> <li>Current EMT - Basic WI State license AND American Heart Association BLS License for healthcare providers </li></ul> <p>OR </p> <ul> <li>Current EMT - Paramedic WI State license AND American Heart Association BLS License for healthcare providers PLUS American Heart Association ACLS License </li></ul> <p>Preferred: </p> <ul> <li> <p>Current PALS Instructor license (American Heart Association)</p> </li><li> <p>Current BLS Instructor license (American Heart Association) </p> </li><li> <p>Current ACLS Instructor license (American Heart Association) </p> </li><li> <p>Included in the above experience, at least one (1) year (2,000 hours*) of verified occupational experience must be within the last five years OR at least 2 years of full-time (8 semesters of part-time) post secondary teaching experience in the occupational field within the last five years.</p> </li></ul> <p>Other skills, knowledge and abilities: </p> <ul> <li>Working experience with computer software systems. </li><li>Ability to work with a diverse group of related students. </li><li>Skilled in teaching a wide range of related subjects. </li><li>Effective verbal and written communication skills. </li><li>Effective problem solving skills. </li></ul> <p>Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire.
