<p>Position Type:</p> <p>Behavior Manager</p> <p>Date Posted:</p> <p>8/19/2025</p> <p>Location:</p> <p>East Hartford High School</p> <p>Date Available:</p> <p>2025-2026 School Year</p> <p>Closing Date:</p> <p>Open until filled</p> <p>&nbsp&nbspAdditional Information: Show/Hide</p> <p>Salary: Per Contract</p> <p>The following documents must be complete and current for application to be considered for this position:</p> <p>X Online Application</p> <p>X Letter of Interest</p> <p>X Resume</p> <p>Copy of Valid Certification and/or License</p> <p>Transcripts</p> <p>X Three Current Letters of Recommendation (dated within one year of application)</p> <p>X Other: Letter of interest should include background information regarding qualifications</p> <p>EAST HARTFORD PUBLIC SCHOOLS</p> <p>BEHAVIOR MANAGER</p> <p>POSITION SUMMARY: To efficiently and effectively manage student behaviors and foster a safe environment for all students.</p> <p>GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:</p> <p>Provides classroom management assistance and implementation of treatment plans for students classified as special education.</p> <p>ESSSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <ul> <li>Assist Classroom teacher with classroom behavior management including behavior intervention, de-escalation, and re-engagement. </li><li>Communicate with teacher to determine next steps and consequences after student is calm, safe and re-engaged in work. </li><li>Support and promote positive behaviors of students at all times and support students in making healthy, safe choices. </li><li>Comply with policies and procedures relating to student protection, health, safety and confidentiality. </li><li>Complete the behavior tracker on the date the incident occurred. </li><li>Report any restraints or seclusions to the building administrator. </li><li>Support students with completing assigned work. </li><li>Ensure students remain supervised at all times. </li><li>Accompany students and supervise student behavior on school buses/transportation vehicles. </li><li>Implement treatment plans as necessary in accordance with Board policy related to physical restraints and seclusion of students.which may mean physical restraints </li><li>Serve on interdisciplinary teams. </li><li>Attend and participate in clinical staff and faculty meetings. </li><li>Work to establish and maintain open lines of communication with students, staff, and parents concerning behavioral concerns and progress of students. </li><li>Assist the classroom teacher with other functions as directed </li><li>Participate in all training and professional development sessions </li><li>Assist the behavior analyst with training of staff </li><li>Assume such other functions as may be determined by building administrator. </li></ul> <p>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY:</p> <p>Some college courses highly desirable. Some experience working with disruptive behavior (especially with children).</p> <p>WORKING CONDITIONS:</p> <p>Behavior managers will frequently be involved in restraining students in accordance with Board policy and must be physically able to handle this type of volatile situation.</p> <p>TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:Hourly rate and benefits in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement between the East Hartford Public Schools and Local 1950 of Council 4 of the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees, AFL-CIO.</p>
