This role focuses on investigating workplace, industrial, and construction-related incidents involving personal injury and regulatory compliance matters. The Occupational & Construction Safety Consultant applies sound engineering principles, safety standards, and industry best practices to determine causation, evaluate safety systems, and develop clear, well-supported opinions for clients, insurers, and legal counsel.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Assist experienced forensic experts on active cases with opportunities for mentorship and a defined development path toward becoming a designated expert. </li><li>Investigate workplace, industrial, and construction site incidents involving employee injury, fatality, or near-miss events </li><li>Support investigations of construction and industrial workplace accidents based on safety principles, proper equipment design, and environmental factors </li><li>Analyze compliance with OSHA regulations, ANSI standards, NFPA codes, and applicable state and local safety requirements </li><li>Evaluate construction means and methods, job hazard analyses, safety programs, and training practices </li><li>Assess use, condition, and guarding of machinery, tools, scaffolding, fall protection systems, and personal protective equipment (PPE) </li><li>Apply ergonomic principles to identify workplace risk factors, evaluate human performance, and recommend injury-prevention strategies </li><li>Conduct or assist with static and dynamic testing related to material performance, product design, and human response </li><li>Review project documents, safety manuals, policies, training records, maintenance logs, and incident reports </li><li>Prepare clear, well-supported reports of findings suitable for both technical and non-technical audiences </li></ul>
