<p>ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES</p> <p>Under the general supervision of the Senior Billing and Compliance Manager, the Grant Accountant is responsible for financial and administrative functions to ensure accuracy and efficiency in invoicing and collecting grant/contract receivables. Additionally, they will prepare and monitor grant/contract expenditure reporting as well as assist in recognizing budget spending and the need for modifications. Specific duties and responsibilities include:</p> <ul> <li>Prepare assigned monthly/quarterly vouchers to funders </li><li>Maintain voucher/reporting schedule for assigned grants and contracts </li><li>Review reasonableness and allowability of expenses charged to grants and contracts </li><li>Audit preparation for internal and external auditors of grants and contracts </li><li>Maintain grant portfolios in audit-ready condition </li><li>Assist divisions with budget preparation </li><li>Conduct regular general ledger analysis for programs related to sponsored awards </li><li>Work with Payroll and Accounts Payable to gather data related to voucher preparation </li><li>Review general ledgers and prepare any necessary journal entries </li><li>Review and reconcile cash receipts/client contributions </li><li>Maintain templates for monthly budget to actual analysis </li><li>Prepare sub-contractor agreements and monthly invoices </li><li>Review aged receivables </li><li>Respond to inquiries from funders, colleagues, and others promptly </li><li>Other related duties as assigned </li><li>Provides support to cover functions in the agency's Finance Department, particularly in the area of general ledger and maintains an understanding of these functions for cross-training purposes </li><li>Assist the Controller in month end closing and other duties as assigned </li></ul> <p>COMPETENCIES</p> <ul> <li>Experience with NYC agencies preferred (DEP, DFTA, HPD, DOE, HRA, DYCD, etc.) </li><li>Experience with NYS agencies preferred (DOE, DOH, DOP, OASAS, OCFS, etc.) </li><li>Ability to work independently </li><li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills </li><li>Ability to organize and prioritize workload to meet deadlines </li><li>Ability to be meticulous with very strong attention to detail </li><li>Basic accounting skills </li><li>Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to maintain positive relationships with staff and external contacts </li><li>Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel </li><li>Yardi systems experience is a plus </li><li>Ability to problem solve and manage time effectively </li><li>Commitment to RiseBoro's mission, vision, and values </li><li>Ability to understand the concepts of institutional and structural racism and bias and their impact on underserved and underrepresented communities </li><li>Commitment to work that supports communities that have experienced systemic oppression and bias (i.e., people of color, LGBTQ+ people, immigrants, justice-involved persons, etc.) </li></ul> <p>EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE</p> <ul> <li>High School diploma or equivalent with 1-2 years of related experience is required </li><li>Associate degree or vocational school training preferred </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>It is the policy of RiseBoro to provide equal employment opportunity to all employees and applicants for employment.
