Must be available to work additional hours as needed.</p> <p>Who May Apply?</p> <p>All persons legally authorized to work in the United States</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <p>Maintain City-wide process control network and controllers, develop and support application software and graphical user interface, and to manage procurement of process control sub-systems from external suppliers.</p> <ul> <li>Provide overall technical development and support for Wastewater Department telemetry and supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) system used by plant personnel to control the operation of city-wide wastewater treatment, lift stations and collection system. </li><li>Design, implement, deploy and support the new telemetry, SCADA, and process control hardware and software, as well as ensure continued operation and maintenance of process control equipment and software, and oversight of equipment and software installation. </li><li>Provide guidance and coordination with other SCADA specialists, Instrumentation and Electrical technicians, IT department, consulting engineers and contractors to handle planning, development, demonstration/testing, deployment, maintenance, and on call emergency support of SCADA, telemetry, control hardware, software, and database as required. </li><li>Integrate process monitoring and control devices from multiple vendors into packaged SCADA solutions. </li><li>Define, initiate, plan, and execute small to medium sized in-house process control and automation projects. </li><li>Review proposal, recommendation, administration, evaluation and acceptance of contracts pertaining to the SCADA and telemetry hardware and software required. </li><li>Provide for development of appropriate middleware for integration with telemetry and control system. </li><li>Identify process reporting needs of the operations, maintenance, and management teams. </li><li>Develop and deliver appropriate automated reporting solutions. </li><li>Apply recognized and generally acceptable goods process control and automation practices to own workflow and to entrusted systems. </li><li>Contribute to developing of system-wide SCADA standards for wastewater treatment, lift stations and collection. </li><li>Respond to system outages after business hours, on weekends, holidays, and during emergencies. </li><li>Provide guidance and assistance to the Operations team with all matters pertaining to the use of SCADA system. </li><li>May be asked to perform other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Requires a Bachelor's Degree </li><li>Minimum of five (5) years of related experience </li><li>A combination of education and pertinent experience may be considered </li><li>Experience in designing, implementing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and supporting SCADA and HMI applications </li><li>Experience with wastewater treatment, lift stations and collection systems preferred </li><li>Applicant should have a high level of technical competence in Process Automation and Control System, Electrical, Instrumentation and Computer technologies </li><li>Must be familiar with process automation industry standards, control hardware and software packages </li><li>Experience with Allen Bradley's PLC's and PAC's, RSLogix and FactoryTalk HMI development environments preferred </li><li>Experience with Process Automation industry communication protocols such as Modbus, OPC, Ethernet/IP preferred </li><li>Conceptually, can integrate components and sub-systems into sound process control and automation systems </li><li>Understanding of and ability to apply basic systems engineering principles to entrusted projects and systems </li><li>Working knowledge of/or ability to quickly become proficient in reporting software such as SQL scripting, CrystalReports, and XLReporter </li><li>Knowledgeable in computer networking architectures, topologies and hardware </li><li>Familiar with process automation documentation such as Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) </li><li>Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), loop sheets, wiring diagrams, and network architecture diagrams preferred </li><li>Ability to direct the work of AutoCAD technician in updating documentation </li><li>A valid driver's license is required.
