<p>General Summary</p> <p>Applicants do not have to qualify for work-study funds from Financial Aid.</p> <p>Starting rate for new hires is $16.00 per hour.</p> <p>Up to 20 hours per week across all student positions.</p> <p>SELECTION PROCESS</p> <p>Preliminary screening will be made on the basis of completed application package submitted by candidate. Completed application package includes</p> <ul> <li> <p>A submitted application</p> </li><li> <p>A copy of current class schedule.</p> </li><li> <p>Students may copy their class schedule from eWolf and paste into a Word document. Then save it to your desktop in order to upload to the application in the "Attachments" step.</p> </li><li> <p>You can also attach a cover letter and/or resume, but it is not required.</p> </li></ul> <p>All application materials become the property of Front Range Community College and cannot be copied. FRCC will conduct a criminal background check on selected candidate. FRCC does not discriminate on the basis of race, ethnicity, age, color, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, disability, religion, or national origin in employment or in our educational programs and activities.</p> <p>Primary Duties</p> <p>A Student Admissions Ambassador:</p> <ul> <li>Provides general information about the college and assistance to new FRCC students regarding class search/selection, course registration, identifying registration blocks/holds, utilizing eWOLF and Navigate, and other student registration needs </li><li>Gives campus tours (1:1 or groups) </li><li>Helps new students progress through the FRCC enrollment steps </li><li>Gives presentations to new students regarding the enrollment process, academic programs, and support services </li><li>Serves on student panels for events </li><li>Supports New Student Orientation, Open Houses and other Admissions events </li><li>Contacts and responds to new students via phone calls, emails and texts to provide information about FRCC and the enrollment process </li><li>Maintains confidentiality of student records in compliance with the Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) </li><li>Utilizes the Recruit, Navigate and Banner systems frequently through entering student information, recording event attendance, and looking up student information </li><li>Makes copies, updates spreadsheets, and completes other general office responsibilities </li><li>Maintains knowledge of current FRCC policies and procedures and participates in departmental trainings </li><li>Performs other duties as assigned by Student Admissions Ambassador supervisor </li></ul> <p>Required Competencies</p> <p>A Student Admissions Ambassador should have:</p> <ul> <li>Proven good customer service and clerical skills </li><li>A genuine enthusiasm for and commitment to FRCC </li><li>Familiarity with computers and Microsoft Office programs (ex. Word, Excel, Outlook) and the ability to learn new software quickly </li><li>Ability to prioritize multiple tasks, be resourceful, pay attention to detail, and work independently </li><li>Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills and an ability to effectively communicate information to diverse audiences including prospective students, parents, faculty, staff, community members, current students, etc. </li><li>Ability to research, explain and resolve student questions and concerns </li><li>Willingness to learn quickly, be flexible, and take initiative </li><li>Ability to be a responsible and dedicated team player </li><li>Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality </li><li>Respect of the diversity of the people we work with and the ability to create an environment in which all people can feel welcome and accepted </li><li>Must be a FRCC student enrolled in at least 6 credits for the current and/or upcoming semester </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Must be a FRCC student enrolled in at least 6 credits for the current semester </li><li>Applicants do not have to qualify for work-study funds from Financial Aid. </li></ul> <p>A Student Admissions Ambassador serves new Front Range Community College students in 1-on-1 and group settings to support them in learning about and getting started at FRCC. These staff members are required to maintain a broad knowledge of and work closely with all college departments in order to serve students in matters of enrollment processes, student accounts, financial aid, student records, and other student related processes and policies. The position provides a high level of customer service and sensitivity in responding to student drop-ins, emails and phone calls, as well as connecting students to staff and appropriate resources. Additional duties include contacting new students via phone, email, and text; giving presentations, tours and serving on student panels; making advising appointments and maintaining student records; and supporting students at events such as New Student Orientation and Wolf-Pack Registration. All in all, Student Admissions Ambassadors strive to represent and promote FRCC in the best possible manner.</p> <p>Notice to Prospective Employees: Front Range Community College is required by the Clery Act of 1990 to notify prospective employees, current employees, students and applicants where to access our Campus Security Report.
