<p>Overview</p> <p>NOTE: Adjunct Faculty positions are for specific classes only and do not imply any availability of full-time employment.</p> <p>POSITION SUMMARY: The Adjunct Agriculture Faculty provides high-quality instruction in agriculture-related courses, with specific emphasis on Agribusiness and Dairy Business. This position requires the ability and comfort to teach courses across both agribusiness and dairy disciplines, supporting student learning through classroom, lab, and applied learning experiences. Instruction is aligned with Lakeshore College's mission and workforce needs. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <p>ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS (Other duties may be assigned):</p> <p>(100%) Instruction</p> <ul> <li>Responsible for placing learning first and providing educational experiences for learners in various delivery formats, schedules, and in various places in accordance with the mission of the college inclusive of: facilitating learning of diverse students, assessing student performance, as well as instruction and outcomes, developing and maintaining current/relevant course materials, and communicating with the community, other schools, the college, the division, and team members. </li><li>Developing curriculum, including learning activities and assessments. </li><li>Work with curriculum coach to ensure state and Lakeshore design requirements are met. </li><li>Teaching/training in business and industry may be assigned. </li><li>Demonstrate comfort and instructional flexibility in delivering content across both Agribusiness and Dairy Science subject areas. </li><li>Prepare and deliver engaging course content using Competency Based Education (CBE) methods to deliver variety of instructional methods, including discussions, labs, and applied learning activities. </li><li>Ensure a safe, inclusive, and effective learning environment, particularly in lab or outdoor instructional settings. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Agriculture or a closely related discipline required; master's degree preferred. </li><li>Two years (4,000 hours) of relevant occupational experience, with one year (2,000 hours) of recent relevant occupational experience within the past five years. </li><li>Relevant occupational experience in Agribusiness and/or Dairy Science required. </li><li>Teaching or training experience in higher education, secondary education, or industry preferred. </li><li>Demonstrated ability to teach and support students in both Agribusiness and Dairy Science subject areas. </li></ul> <p>CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSURE, REGISTRATION:</p> <ul> <li>Valid State of Wisconsin driver's license is required. </li></ul> <p>KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:</p> <p>KNOWLEDGE</p> <ul> <li>Knowledge of current practices in Agribusiness and Dairy Science. </li><li>Strong instructional, organizational, and communication skills. </li><li>Ability to adapt teaching strategies to diverse learning styles. </li><li>Proficiency with instructional technologies and learning management systems. </li><li>Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-based environment. </li><li>Commitment to professionalism, confidentiality, and student success. </li><li>Knowledge of Lakeshore's mission, vision, and strategic direction. </li></ul> <p>SKILLS</p> <ul> <li>Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.). </li><li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills. </li><li>Strong organizational and time management skills. </li><li>Effective interpersonal skills and customer service skills. </li><li>Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills. </li></ul> <p>ABILITIES</p> <ul> <li>Adapt quickly to new and changing technology. </li><li>Perform work accurately and thoroughly, with a high level of accountability and attention to detail. </li><li>Work independently, as part of a team, and/or with minimal supervision. </li><li>Present self in a professional, ethical, and respectful manner always. </li><li>Use discretion and maintain a high level of confidentiality. </li><li>Prioritize and manage multiple projects or tasks, maintaining deadlines. </li><li>Establish and maintain effective working relationships and relate successfully with staff, students, and all stakeholders. </li></ul> <p>PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:</p> <ul> <li>While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. </li><li>The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms. </li><li>The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. </li><li>The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. </li><li>Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. </li><li>Work environment may require multi-tasking. </li><li>The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. </li></ul> <p>CONDITION(S) OF EMPLOYMENT:</p> <ul> <li>Employment conditional on completion of a Background Information Disclosure (BID) and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check with the results acceptable to the College. </li><li>Must meet and maintain Faculty Quality Assurance System (FQAS) requirements within 5 years of employment. </li><li>Valid driver's license required. </li></ul> <p>This job description is designed to cover the basic functions of the job and is not considered a detailed description of every job duty that is required, other duties may be assigned as needed.
