<p>Position Type:</p> <p>Elementary School Teaching/Early Childhood</p> <p>Date Posted:</p> <p>5/2/2025</p> <p>Location:</p> <p>Festus R-VI Early Childhood Center</p> <p>Date Available:</p> <p>07/01/2025</p> <p>Closing Date:</p> <p>Open Until Filled</p> <p>&nbsp&nbspAdditional Information: Show/Hide</p> <p>The Festus School District is seeking applicants for the 2025-26 school year for the position of: Parent Educator - Parents as Teachers</p> <p>Position Title: Parent Educator - Parents as Teachers</p> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Certification and/or a four year degree in either Early Childhood Education, Early Childhood Special Education, Elementary Education, Child Development, Social Work or a related field and demonstrated ability in working with young children and their parents </li><li>Prior experience in working with young children and their families in a home visiting program preferred. </li><li>Effective communication and interpersonal skills (nonjudgmental, objective, reflective, empathic, patient, tactful). </li><li>Organized, detail oriented, independent and self-motivated, with unquestionable integrity. </li><li>Skillfully able to establish rapport with families and empower them by building on their strengths. </li><li>Competent with computer skills including; email, word processing and the ability to use the PAT record keeping system. </li><li>Personal, licensed and insured reliable transportation is necessary to provide home visits throughout our four school districts. </li><li>Must be available to work some days, evenings and weekends. </li><li>Must physically be able to sit on the floor during visits, lift 40lbs, and stand in one place for up to 2 hours. </li></ul> <p>Details: Begins July 1st, 2025, 10-20 hours per week. $21.98 per hour</p> <p>Certification: Must receive a one-week training/certificate in the Parents as Teachers Foundational Curriculum and Model Implementation from the Parents as Teacher National Institute in St. Louis, MO.
