<p>The Tool and Die Specialist will report to the Tool and Die Supervisor and will be responsible for performing tooling change, preventative maintenance, and repairs on automotive injection molds. Excellent tool and die craftsmanship skills is crucial for the team to achieve success.</p> <p>The ideal candidate has a proven record of success in similar environments. Must have the ability to work with various teams within manufacturing. Appreciates an environment where superior work is encouraged, noticed, and rewarded.</p> <ul> <li> <p>Support design engineering to evaluate feasibility and implementation of tooling changes to accommodate part change</p> </li><li> <p>Assist process engineering with part processing and troubleshooting for ongoing scrap reduction, cycle time reduction and downtime reduction</p> </li><li> <p>Responsible for the correct disassembly and assembly of molds in a safe and timely manner</p> </li><li> <p>Identify and implement proactive systems to achieve consistent reduction in injection molding defects and productivity concerns</p> </li><li> <p>Support production floor to repair and/or fabricate cores, cavities, and various other components of automotive injection molds ranging from small 200t interior parts to large 3000t fascia</p> </li><li> <p>Maintain mold preventative maintenance systems, including following and developing detailed work instructions to manage on schedule completion of activities</p> </li><li> <p>Maintain and stock mold spare parts</p> </li><li> <p>5+ years hands-on experience working in mold maintenance and repair (i.e., hot runner system, slide or core action limit switches, SVG cylinders) including new vehicle development and launch activities</p> </li><li> <p>Possess machining skills for minor mold component repair and replacement</p> </li><li> <p>Knowledge with interpretation of dimensional inspection results (checking fixture, CMM or vision system) and TIG welding</p> </li><li> <p>Strong analytic problem-solving skills and organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to work with and develop production performance metrics (efficiency, quality, safety, throughput, costs)</p> </li><li> <p>Must have command of the English language, both written and verbal</p> </li></ul>
