<p>Akkodis is seeking a Java Developer for a Contract with a client in Charlotte, NC. The ideal candidate will design and maintain distributed microservices and build high-throughput Kafka pipelines, while also deploying and troubleshooting applications on OpenShift.</p> <p>Rate Range: $45/hour to $50/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.</p> <p>Java Developer job responsibilities include:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Design, develop, and maintain Java-based microservices within a distributed, cloud-native environment.</p> </li><li> <p>Build and optimize high-throughput, low-latency data pipelines using Apache Kafka (producers, consumers, streams, schema management).</p> </li><li> <p>Deploy, manage, and troubleshoot containerized applications on OpenShift or Kubernetes-based platforms.</p> </li><li> <p>Implement CI/CD pipelines and support DevOps practices to ensure seamless, reliable software delivery.</p> </li><li> <p>Collaborate with cross-functional teams on architecture, solution design, and technical requirements.</p> </li><li> <p>Monitor and optimize application performance, scalability, reliability, and security while resolving production issues.</p> </li></ul> <p>Required Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.</p> </li><li> <p>8-10 years of professional experience in Java development with strong exposure to microservices and distributed systems.</p> </li><li> <p>Proven hands-on experience building and managing Kafka-based data pipelines (producers, consumers, streams, schema management).</p> </li><li> <p>Strong practical expertise deploying and troubleshooting applications on OpenShift or similar Kubernetes-based platforms.</p> </li></ul> <p>If you are interested in this role, then please click APPLY NOW.
