<p>Job Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Plan, develop, coordinate, implement and supervise the daily and emergency maintenance and repair programs for a level III institution. </li><li>Develop maintenance plans and procedures for buildings, utility services, grounds, installed equipment, etc. </li><li>Determine requirements, set priorities, obtain required materials and equipment, and assign work. </li><li>Establish on-call procedures to respond to emergency maintenance and repair calls and ensure the work is promptly and properly performed. </li><li>Develop and implement preventive maintenance program for the institution. </li><li>Determine all items requiring periodic preventive maintenance and develop PM check list for each item. </li><li>Schedule and follow up to ensure that preventive maintenance is completed as required. </li><li>Develop plan and cost estimate, determine schedule, and obtain required materials, supplies, and equipment. </li><li>Select, orient and train new employees and inmate trade workers and evaluate their performance. </li></ul> <p>Must successfully complete four (4) week SCDC Basic Training upon hire</p> <p>Questions regarding the application process, this job posting or any other postings with the SCDC should be directed to:</p> <p>Recruiting and Employment Services</p> <p>(803) 896-1649</p> <p>Employment@doc.sc.gov</p> <p>Minimum and Additional Requirements</p> <p>State of South Carolina Minimum Requirements:</p> <p>An associate's degree and professional experience directly related to the area of employment.</p> <p>SCDC Minimum Requirements:</p> <p>(Or an acceptable equivalency as approved by the Division of State Human Resources).</p> <ul> <li>A bachelor's degree and five (5) years' professional experience in principles and techniques of facilities maintenance to include but not limited to HVAC, locks and locking devices, plumbing, general construction/renovations, electrical and/or kitchen equipment, one of which must have been in a supervisory capacity; </li></ul> <p>OR</p> <ul> <li>An associate's degree and seven (7) years professional experience in principles and techniques of facilities maintenance to include but not limited to HVAC, locks and locking devices, plumbing, general construction renovations, electrical capacity, one of which must have been in a supervisory capacity. </li></ul> <p>OR</p> <ul> <li>A high school diploma and nine (9) years professional experience in principles and techniques of facilities maintenance to include but not limited to: HVAC, locks and locking devices, plumbing, general construction/renovations, electrical and/or kitchen equipment, one of which must be in a supervisory capacity. </li></ul> <p>Additional Comments</p> <p>The South Carolina Department of Corrections is committed to providing equal opportunities to all applicants and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex (including pregnancy), national origin, age (40 or older), disability or genetic information.</p> <p>Supplemental questions are considered part of your official application.
