<p>Teacher -PreK</p> <p>Job Status: UNTIL FILLED Posting Date: 12/12/2025 Posting Number: 013315 Location: Anderson Position Title: Teacher -PreK Wage/Hour Status: Exempt Reports To: Principal</p> <p>Primary Purpose:</p> <p>Provide all students, including those receiving special education services, with learning activities and experiences designed to help them fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. Develop or modify curricula and prepare lessons and other instructional materials to match student ability levels. Work in a blended team environment, departmental, or itinerant capacity as assigned.</p> <p>Qualifications: Education/Certification:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's Degree </li><li>Appropriate Special Education Certification </li><li>ESL certification </li><li>Certificate that matches the subject and grade level of the assignment </li></ul> <p>Special Knowledge/Skills:</p> <ul> <li>Knowledge of special needs of students in assigned area. </li><li>Knowledge of Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) Committee process and Individual Education Plan (IEP) goal setting process and implementation. </li><li>General knowledge of curriculum and instruction and how to adapt curriculum. </li><li>Knowledge of early child learning and development including social and emotional development, language development, and early literacy skills. </li><li>Knowledge of positive behavior supports. </li><li>Deep understanding of Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) including relationship between content and performance standard. </li><li>Demonstrates implementation of effective instructional strategies. </li><li>Knowledge of the Response to Intervention (RTI) Process for student interventions. </li><li>Evidence of strong planning and organizational skills. </li><li>Demonstrates flexibility within the daily demands of the campus. </li><li>Ability to effectively communicate with others in written, interpersonal, and verbal formats. </li><li>Ability to utilize technology for communication, planning, training and classroom instruction. </li><li>Demonstrates the ability to work effectively as part of a team and solve problems collaboratively. </li><li>Evidence of excellent interpersonal skills and ability to cultivate relationships. </li><li>Demonstrates a commitment to ongoing professional learning. </li><li>Ability to work with diverse populations. </li></ul> <p>Experience:</p> <p>At least three years of teaching experience preferred</p> <p>Major Responsibilities and Duties:</p> <ul> <li>Collaborate with students, parents, and other members of staff to develop IEPs through the ARD Committee process for each student assigned. </li><li>Implement an instructional, therapeutic, or skill development program for assigned students and show written evidence of preparation as required. </li><li>Plan and use appropriate instructional and learning strategies, activities, materials, and equipment that reflect understanding of the needs of students assigned. </li><li>Present subject matter effectively and according to guidelines established by IEP. </li><li>Employ a variety of instructional strategies and media to meet the needs and capabilities of each student assigned. </li><li>Work cooperatively with general education teachers and special education team members to modify regular curricula and assist special education students in general education classes with assignments as appropriate. </li><li>Prepare for and participate in ARD Committee meetings. </li><li>Use technology in teaching/learning process. </li></ul> <p>Supervisory Responsibilities:</p> <p>None</p> <p>Customer Care Skills:</p> <ul> <li>Provide professional communication with students, parents, community members, staff and other professionals at all times. </li><li>Use proper phone etiquette at all times, speaking slowly and clearly. Take reliable messages, and route to appropriate staff. </li><li>Ensure superior customer care skills are used via eye contact, facial expressions, voice inflections, body language, and an attitude of "going the extra mile" for others. </li><li>Ensure all requests for information are dealt with in an appropriate time frame. </li><li>Create and maintain a welcoming, service-oriented environment toward all internal and external customers. </li></ul> <p>Mental Demands/Physical Demands:</p> <p>Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment including personal computer and peripherals</p> <p>Posture: Prolonged sitting; occasional bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting</p> <p>Motion: Repetitive hand motions including frequent keyboarding and use of mouse; occasional reaching</p> <p>Lifting: Occasional light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds)</p> <p>Environment: May work prolonged or irregular hours; frequent district wide travel; occasional statewide travel and out-of-state travel</p> <p>Mental Demands: Work with frequent interruptions, maintain emotional control under stress</p> <p>Salary: Commensurate with experience according to District salary schedule.
