Be on their team. </li></ul> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Operates sterilization equipment and inspects instruments, equipment, and containers to ensure cleanliness and proper functioning. </li><li>Performs decontamination of soiled instruments, sterilization containers and equipment according to instructions for use (IFUs) and established protocols. </li><li>Corrects instrument sets according to current standards, established count sheets and/or instrument tracking systems. </li><li>Maintains proper levels of inventory to ensure availability for case carts. </li><li>Performs regular quality assurance program audits of peers. </li></ul> <p>ORGANIZATIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES</p> <p>Associate complies with the following organizational requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Attends and participates in department meetings and is accountable for all information shared. </li><li>Completes mandatory education, annual competencies and department specific education within established timeframes. </li><li>Completes annual employee health requirements within established timeframes. </li><li>Maintains license/certification, registration in good standing throughout fiscal year. </li><li>Direct patient care providers are required to maintain current BCLS (CPR) and other certifications as required by position/department. </li><li>Consistently utilizes appropriate universal precautions, protective equipment, and ergonomic techniques to protect patient and self. </li><li>Adheres to regulatory agency requirements, survey process and compliance. </li><li>Complies with established organization and department policies. </li><li>Available to work overtime in addition to working additional or other shifts and schedules when required. </li></ul> <p>Commitment to Beacon's six-point Operating System, referred to as The Beacon Way:</p> <ul> <li>Leverage innovation everywhere. </li><li>Cultivate human talent. </li><li>Embrace performance improvement. </li><li>Build greatness through accountability. </li><li>Use information to improve and advance. </li><li>Communicate clearly and continuously. </li></ul> <p>Education:</p> <ul> <li>High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required. </li><li>Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable. </li></ul> <p>Additional Information</p> <p>Licensure / Certification / Registration:</p> <ul> <li>One or more of the following is required: </li><li>Certified Central Service Tech credentialed from the International Association of Healthcare Central Service Material Management (IAHCSMM) obtained within 18 Months (1 ½ years) of hire date or job transfer date. </li><li>Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Tech Certification by the Certification Board For Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD) obtained within 18 months (1 ½ years) of hire date or job transfer date. </li></ul> <p>Education:</p> <ul> <li>High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED) required. </li><li>Previous C.S. experience preferred. </li></ul> <p>Additional Preferences:</p> <p>Must be HSPA certified within 18 months of hire. Able to lift up to 25lbs.</p>
