<p>The Sanitation Technician is responsible for performing duties as directed by the Maintenance Manager for the successful operation of the Maintenance Department. It is essential that as a Sanitation Technician, you will present yourself in a professional and courteous manner at all times while performing your defined responsibilities. You are responsible for always maintaining our high standards of Customer Service. Other duties may be assigned as required, depending upon the available time, business volume and other criteria as determined by your appropriate supervisor and/or Gerrity's Supermarket. Full compliance with current and future policies will be required to ensure that your work contribution is in the best interest of Gerrity's Supermarkets. Position will require travel</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Responsible for general store maintenance regarding overall sanitation, and general cleaning </li><li>Completes a daily cleaning checklist to ensure all areas and equipment are ready to meet pre operations goals established by Management </li><li>Janitorial tasks such as cleaning all restrooms, breakroom, main hallways, warehouses, compactor and food service areas </li><li>Complete knowledge of chemicals for janitorial and sanitation tasks </li><li>Comply fully with and enforce all safety policies and procedures </li><li>Attendance at your job is essential to the overall function of your department </li><li>Use and maintain all equipment in good condition </li><li>Always operate equipment with all safeguards in place and in good operating condition; observe the safe method of performing all duties </li><li>Immediately advise Management of any maintenance or equipment problems </li><li>Be able to perform all duties and responsibilities in an efficient and satisfactory manner that meets the minimum standards for volume, productivity, accuracy, cleanliness, harmony, and safety established by the employer </li><li>Performs other related duties as assigned </li></ul> <p>Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>High school diploma or General Education Development (GED) or equivalent. </li><li>1-2 years previous experience in Maintenance or Sanitation </li><li>Able to lift a minimum of 50-75 lbs </li><li>Employee is frequently required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, and crouch </li><li>Ability to read, write, analyze, interpret, and understand the English language with sufficient proficiency in order to read and understand. </li><li>Must be at least 18 years old </li><li>Ability to travel </li></ul>
