<p>JobID: 375</p> <p>Category: Crafts/Trades</p> <p>JobSchedule: Full time</p> <p>Posted Date: 2026-01-21T20:29:53+00:00</p> <p>JobShift:</p> <p>:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Equipment Reliability & Maintenance</p> </li><li> <p>Perform preventive and predictive maintenance (PM/PdM) on critical equipment, including:</p> </li><li> <p>Rotary or fluid bed dryers</p> </li><li> <p>Mills (ball/rod/vertical), crushers, and classifiers</p> </li><li> <p>Belt conveyors, bucket elevators, screw conveyors, and feeders</p> </li><li> <p>Screens, cyclones, fans, blowers, and baghouses</p> </li><li> <p>Pumps, gearboxes, bearings, and couplings</p> </li><li> <p>Inspect, adjust, and repair mechanical components such as belts, chains, sprockets, bearings, seals, and shafts.</p> </li><li> <p>Perform precision alignment (laser or dial indicator) on motors, pumps, and gearboxes.</p> </li><li> <p>Execute vibration, temperature, and visual inspections to identify early signs of failure and recommend corrective actions.</p> </li><li> <p>Troubleshooting & Root Cause Analysis</p> </li><li> <p>Respond to equipment breakdowns, systematically diagnose mechanical issues, and implement effective repairs.</p> </li><li> <p>Perform root cause failure analysis (RCFA) on repeated or critical failures and recommend permanent corrective actions.</p> </li><li> <p>Collaborate with operators and maintenance staff to understand equipment history and operating conditions contributing to failures.</p> </li><li> <p>Reliability Improvements & Planning</p> </li><li> <p>Identify opportunities to improve equipment design, lubrication practices, PM tasks, and spare parts strategies.</p> </li><li> <p>Recommend modifications to equipment, guarding, or components to enhance reliability, maintainability, and safety.</p> </li><li> <p>Assist in planning and scheduling maintenance work, including ordering parts, preparing work packages, and coordinating with operations on downtime windows.</p> </li><li> <p>Documentation & CMMS</p> </li><li> <p>Accurately document work performed, findings, and parts used in the Computerized</p> </li><li> <p>Maintenance Management System (CMMS).</p> </li><li> <p>Maintain up-to-date equipment histories, PM records, and inspection reports.</p> </li><li> <p>Help develop and update standard work instructions, PM checklists, and lubrication routes for critical equipment.</p> </li><li> <p>Safety & Compliance</p> </li><li> <p>Follow all site safety policies, procedures, and lockout/tagout (LOTO) requirements at all times.</p> </li><li> <p>Participate in safety observations, audits, and incident investigations as needed.</p> </li><li> <p>Ensure all maintenance tasks are performed in a manner that protects employees, equipment, and the environment (housekeeping, dust control, guarding, etc.).</p> </li><li> <p>Collaboration & Training</p> </li><li> <p>Work closely with operators to understand equipment performance and coach them on basic care and early defect detection.</p> </li><li> <p>Provide guidance and mentoring to other mechanics and helpers on reliability best practices.</p> </li><li> <p>Participate in and sometimes lead reliability-focused meetings, such as bad-actor reviews, PM optimization sessions, or weekly maintenance planning meetings.</p> </li><li> <p>High School Diploma or GED</p> </li><li> <p>Technical certificate or trade school in Industrial Maintenance, Mechanical Technology, or related field preferred.</p> </li><li> <p>3-5 years of experience as an Industrial Mechanic / Maintenance Technician in a heavy industrial, mining, or process environment (aggregates, cement, sand, or similar) preferred.</p> </li><li> <p>Experience working with dryers, mills, and conveyor systems strongly preferred</p> </li><li> <p>Technical Skills</p> </li><li> <p>Strong troubleshooting skills on rotating equipment (motors, gearboxes, pumps, fans, conveyors).</p> </li><li> <p>Proficient in reading mechanical drawings, blueprints, and equipment manuals.</p> </li><li> <p>Experience with:</p> </li><li> <p>Bearing installation and lubrication practices</p> </li><li> <p>Gearbox repair and replacement</p> </li><li> <p>Coupling and belt alignment</p> </li><li> <p>Welding and basic fabrication (preferred)</p> </li><li> <p>Basic understanding of vibration or condition monitoring tools (preferred)</p> </li><li> <p>Familiarity with CMMS (e.g., SAP, Maximo, eMaint, or similar) for work orders and PMs.</p> </li><li> <p>Behavioral Competencies</p> </li><li> <p>Strong commitment to safety and risk reduction.</p> </li><li> <p>Reliable, organized, and able to prioritize work in a fast-paced environment.</p> </li><li> <p>Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively with maintenance, operations, and engineering.</p> </li><li> <p>Problem-solver mindset with a focus on long-term solutions, not just quick fixes.</p> </li></ul> <p>U.S. Silica is a leading producer of industrial minerals essential to modern life.
