<p>As an EDI Business Analyst at Covetrus, you will play a crucial role in our commitment to providing high-quality veterinary medications and ensuring the safety and health of animals. The EDI Business analyst is responsible for maintaining vendor compliance and ensure the smooth execution of electronic transactions across our supply chain. This position serves as a frontline contact for suppliers during onboarding and throughout the EDI lifecycle, working closely with internal teams and external partners to resolve issues quickly and effectively. The analyst is responsible for proactive error monitoring, supplier follow-up, and maintaining accurate documentation across shared systems and tools. Success in this role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to take initiative when resolving errors or enforcing compliance. This role is key to upholding Covetrus' EDI standards and supporting operational excellence across Procurement, Fulfillment, and Order Management functions.</p> <p>ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.</p> <ul> <li>Serve as the primary point of contact for suppliers during the EDI onboarding process & throughout the EDI lifecycle, coordinating internal teams to support supplier go-lives and ensure timely certification and activation, monitoring supplier progress post-certification, tracking EDI performance, responding to supplier questions and escalating issues to appropriate internal departments when necessary. </li><li>Maintain and update tracking tools and shared reports, including Daily Error Reports, ASN and Invoice Issue Trackers and vendor submission logs, logging repeat offenders and error trends weekly to identify root causes and drive supplier compliance, creating and managing service desk tickets or SPS Support tickets as needed. </li><li>Perform daily EDI inbox triage, using saved emails and shared resources to independently find answers and resolve issues without unnecessary escalation, ensuring certification notices, error updates, and supplier communications are recorded and followed up appropriately. </li><li>Communicate clearly and professionally with suppliers and internal teams to ensure alignment and follow through. </li><li>Contribute to improving EDI processes, documentation, and standards as part of a continuous improvement mindset. </li><li>Build productive working relationships with Procurement, Regulatory, IT, Accounts Payable, and other teams. </li><li>Assists in other projects and performs other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <p>EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Information Systems, or related field; or equivalent combination of education, training, and hands-on experience in EDI operations or supply chain technology. </li><li>1-3 years of experience in EDI operations, supply chain, procurement, or a related analytical or technical support role. </li><li>Proven experience monitoring and resolving EDI errors, communicating with vendors and escalating issues to internal or external stakeholders when needed. </li><li>Experience working with 3rd-party EDI providers and vendor portals, strongly preferred. </li></ul> <p>COMPETENCIES (SKILLS AND ABILITIES)</p> <ul> <li>Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, basic formulas) and SharePoint. </li><li>Familiarity with Procure-to-Pay (P2P) EDI transaction sets (e.g. 850, 855, 856, 810) and EDI error types. </li><li>Experience with ticketing systems, internal service desks, or workflow tools for issue escalation and tracking (e.g. ServiceNow, Jira, Asana). </li><li>Comfortable interpreting EDI errors and working independently with limited guidance to resolve them. </li><li>Ability to manage, update, and track shared reports with accuracy and consistency across platforms. </li><li>Strong attention to detail and excellent follow-through on task completion and documentation. </li><li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to communicate clearly and professionally with vendors, internal teams, and external partners. </li><li>Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving skills - able to determine when to escalate and when to take direct action. </li><li>Highly organized and capable of managing daily, weekly, and long-term responsibilities without reminders. </li><li>Assertiveness in follow-ups, with confidence to involve senior stakeholders to drive resolution. </li></ul> <p>ADDITIONAL SKILLS (HELPFUL BUT NOT REQUIRED)</p> <ul> <li>Strong Time Management: Balances daily priorities, recurring tasks, and ad hoc issues while meeting multiple internal and external deadlines. </li></ul> <p>HOURS AND REPORTING</p> <ul> <li>Reports directly to Sr. EDI Business Analyst. </li><li>Hours for this position are Mon-Fri, day shift. </li><li>Hybrid: less than 50% in office </li><li>Minimal travel required: <5% </li></ul> <p>PHYSICIAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT</p> <p>The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
