At Alston & Bird LLP, our foundation is made of trust, reliability, and compassion.</p> <p>JOB DESCRIPTION</p> <p>Responsible for supporting the administration of the Research Services department and with the provision of retrieval research services and access to resources.</p> <p>ESSENTIAL DUTIES</p> <ul> <li> <p>Pull cases, dockets, court documents, and respond to other ready reference questions as assigned utilizing the most efficient and cost-effective resources</p> </li><li> <p>Procure document retrieval of journal articles, book chapters/sections, and other legal and non-legal documents per the prescribed departmental process</p> </li><li> <p>Support large data projects/requests, department initiatives, and other projects as assigned</p> </li><li> <p>Provide excellent service to attorneys, management, staff, and other professionals.</p> </li><li> <p>Work consistently and effectively in a team environment.</p> </li></ul> <p>SKILLS NEEDED TO BE SUCESSFUL</p> <ul> <li> <p>Familiarity with the effective use of retrieval resources, including but not limited to, Westlaw, Lexis, LexMachina, Pacer, CourtLink and others</p> </li><li> <p>Proficiently utilizes both legal and non-legal research resources as well as internal Firm databases</p> </li><li> <p>Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite with strong working knowledge of Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint</p> </li><li> <p>Responsiveness and demonstrated ability to manage and prioritize competing deadlines</p> </li><li> <p>Client service orientation combined with excellent verbal and written communication skills</p> </li><li> <p>Strong organizational and time management skills with excellent attention to detail</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to work in a collaborative, service-oriented team, yet also independently with minimal supervision</p> </li></ul> <p>EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE</p> <ul> <li> <p>College degree required</p> </li><li> <p>Some library, law firm or research experience preferred</p> </li></ul> <p>PHYSICAL EFFORT</p> <ul> <li> <p>Repetitive motions substantial movements of the wrists, hands and/or fingers</p> </li><li> <p>Crouching, kneeling, standing, climbing, stooping, walking, pushing, pulling and lifting</p> </li><li> <p>Talking expressing or exchanging ideas by means of spoken word</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to convey detailed or important spoken instructions to other workers accurately</p> </li><li> <p>Hearing ability to receive detailed information through oral communication</p> </li><li> <p>Sitting most of the time</p> </li></ul> <p>LOCATION SPECIFIC INFORMATION</p> <p>The salary range for this role is $68,000 to $70,000 annually, which is based on a 37.5-hour work week. This range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in Los Angeles. This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting.
