<p>ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS</p> <ul> <li>Uses range pole or level rod to establish vertical and horizontal control. </li><li>Sets grade stakes for construction projects. </li><li>Inspects various construction projects for compliance with plans and specifications. </li><li>Reads, interprets and understands construction plans and specifications. </li><li>Maintains effective communication with the contractor, public and other employees. </li><li>Performs basic engineering calculations and functions. </li><li>Operates a motor vehicle. </li><li>Maintains accurate notes and records. </li></ul> <p>OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS</p> <ul> <li>Performs miscellaneous inspection related tasks. </li><li>Performs maintenance on vehicles and equipment. </li><li>Performs miscellaneous survey related tasks. </li><li>Operates a City vehicle. </li><li>Ability to traverse construction sites to perform inspection duties. </li><li>Ability to perform basic engineering calculations and functions. </li><li>Ability to follow oral and written instructions. </li><li>Ability to perform manual labor under varying weather conditions. </li><li>Ability to deal with the public in a courteous manner. </li><li>Must be able to provide own steel toed shoes. </li><li>Must possess a valid driver's license. </li><li>Must be at least eighteen years of age. </li></ul> <p>WORK SCHEDULE:</p> <p>Hours per day: 8</p> <p>Specific hours: 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.</p> <p>Days per week: 5</p> <p>Hours per week: 40+</p> <p>EMPLOYMENT PERIOD: May 15 - September 1</p> <p>WORK LOCATIONS:</p> <p>Municipal Services Building, 2625 E.
