<p>Summary Statement</p> <p>The City of Boise is seeking a Finance Systems Coordinator to support and modernize our enterprise financial systems. This role blends hands-on ERP configuration and testing with a strong understanding of accounting functions and financial workflows. You'll collaborate with departments across the city-including Finance, IT, and HR-to improve system performance, ensure data integrity, and lead cross-functional process improvements. Partners with leadership on change management throughout a project, with upgrades and process improvements. Collaborates with Finance, IT, HR, vendors, and stakeholders to implement, configure, and integrate ERP and finance subsystems, ensuring they meet department and city needs. Partners with leadership on change management for system projects, upgrades, and process improvements. Evaluates system functionality and workflow, working with stakeholders to optimize processes and enhance efficiency.</p> <p>Works with IT and Functional Leads to validate data migration accuracy, create test scripts, and coordinate user acceptance testing for system changes. Performs routine validation of subsystem data against ERP data, ensuring accuracy and resolving discrepancies. Escalates technical issues to IT as needed. Serves as the Finance Department liaison with IT Data Stewards, maintaining data management protocols, quality control, validation, and security initiatives.</p> <p>Develops and generates custom reports, data analysis, and visualizations to support operations and decision-making. Conducts data mining for public records requests and strategic or operational needs.</p> <p>Coordinates with Finance Functional Leads to develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs). Partners in delivering citywide training on system functionality, processes, workflows, and reporting.</p> <p>Acts as a primary contact for system-related inquiries and troubleshooting. Serves as the Finance liaison on IT's Disaster Recovery team. Assists with finance-related projects or analytics as needed, providing hands-on support during peak workloads.</p> <p>Performs other duties as assigned. Nothing in this job description restricts management's right to assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this position at any time.</p> <p>Requirements</p> <p>Required Knowledge, Experience, And Training</p> <p>Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, computer science, information systems, or a closely related field and four years of experience in change management coordination, communications and leadership, with strong technical aptitude and experience working with ERP systems and configuration, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.</p> <p>Knowledge of:</p> <ul> <li>Finance workflows, business analytics, data management, and quality control processes </li><li>Familiarity with regulatory requirements and compliance standards relevant to financial operations </li><li>Excellent trouble shooting and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail </li><li>Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively collaborate with various stakeholders </li><li>Cross functional collaboration and change management expertise through system implementations, upgrades and process improvement. </li></ul> <p>Ability to:</p> <ul> <li>Work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. </li><li>Data mine to extract information from a data warehouse, and create reports </li><li>Interpret and apply federal, state and city policies, procedures, laws, codes, rules and regulations </li><li>Understand complex technical literature, theory and instrumentation </li><li>Conduct research and analyze data </li><li>Prepare clear, accurate and concise technical reports </li><li>Establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, co-workers, clients and others </li><li>Communicate effectively in the English language at a level necessary for efficient job performance </li><li>Perform all essential functions as assigned by an authorized employee, supervisor and/or manager with or without reasonable accommodation </li></ul> <p>Individuals must be capable of operating vehicles safely and have an acceptable driving record.</p> <p>Licensing And Other Requirements</p> <p>Valid state-issued driver's license.</p> <p>Special Requirements</p> <p>Applicants must be able to pass:</p> <p>City of Boise background check processes which includes a criminal history check and reference checks in accordance with the City of Boise Hiring Process Regulation</p> <p>Credit History Check</p> <p>Driving Record Check</p> <p>Working Conditions</p> <p>The physical effort characteristics and working environment described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
