A criminal history will not automatically disqualify a candidate from an offer of employment.</p> <p>We're building brain-computer interfaces at Blackrock Neurotech, and we need someone who gets excited about making the impossible possible.</p> <p>What we do: Our team - BCI applications team - is creating ways for people to control computers with their thoughts. This isn't sci-fi - we're actually doing it. We're a small group of software developers, clinicians, data scientists, and UX designers working together to reinvent how humans interact with technology.</p> <p>What you'll do: You'll prototype new interaction concepts at the intersection of neuroscience and computing. Your prototypes will help us figure out what works, what doesn't, and what might become the next breakthrough.</p> <p>This role is half explorer, half builder. You'll need to be comfortable switching between "let's see if this crazy idea works" and "let's make this stable enough for real people to use."</p> <p>What we're looking for:</p> <ul> <li>Someone who loves building things and isn't afraid to try new approaches </li><li>Strong technical skills (CS/Engineering degree or equivalent experience) </li><li>Comfortable with using and building with new AI technologies - you need to be aligned with the latest developments in AI </li><li>Experience building interactive prototypes </li><li>Curiosity about neurotechnology (no BCI experience needed, just be ready to learn fast) </li><li>Comfort with ambiguity - we're literally inventing new ways to interact with computers, so you won't have a playbook to take inspiration from </li></ul> <p>Nice to have:</p> <ul> <li>Experience with machine learning in interactive systems </li><li>Data analysis and visualization skills </li><li>Research experience, especially with human subjects </li><li>Graduate degree in CS, HCI, or related field </li><li>3+ years building interactive systems </li></ul> <p>The reality: This isn't a typical software job. We're working on problems that don't have established solutions yet. You'll need to bring creativity, think from first principles, and be okay with throwing away prototypes that don't work.
