<p>PURPOSE:</p> <p>The vision for the Sylvamo Capital Effectiveness Team is to identify and engage Team Members from across the Globe to develop a high performance and agile work Team to support our Primary Mills and Facilities to be best in class for the development and deployment of capital investments. We are seeking a Manager of Capital Projects to leverage their talents and skills gained thorough years of experience to support our Corporate and Facility Teams.</p> <p>WHAT YOU WILL DO:</p> <p>The Manager of Capital Projects will span across all areas and include the following activities:</p> <ul> <li>Provide Safety and Environmental Leadership for Capital Teams. </li><li>Ensure that capital projects are properly staffed. </li><li>Manage overall engineering alliances and partnerships that are used by the Primary Mills. </li><li>Business Capital Portfolio Management. </li><li>Provide development and training capital project management resources globally. </li><li>Ensure that Corporate Financial Policy Manual (FPM) and Capital. Investment Manual (CIM) are adhered to during the review of capital investments. </li><li>Review Capital Request routings for approval based on content, quality, and budgets. </li><li>Track Business Capital Project Metrics and improvement plans. </li><li>Support discretionary (CR and ST) capital project development at Primary Mills. </li><li>Lead benchmarking and data collection for completed projects. </li><li>Lead Project Delivery Process (PDP) training. </li><li>Lead Capital GMS through working with the Mill / Facility Teams. </li><li>Provide leadership and training for Value Improving Processes (VIP's). </li></ul> <p>WHAT YOU WILL NEED:</p> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>BS Degree in engineering discipline. </li><li>Minimum 12 years' experience in capital project management. </li><li>Demonstrated excellence in leadership management and facility planning. </li><li>Good communication skills, both verbal and written to constructively interact with Corporate, mill teams, project teams, and management. </li><li>Demonstrated ability to get results through influencing. </li><li>Experience using process improvement methodologies and/or change management processes. </li><li>Demonstrated extensive knowledge of the Project Delivery Process and associated best practices. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>15 years engineering experience in Pulp and Paper industry. </li><li>Proficiency with SAP, Word, Excel, Microsoft Project. </li><li>Proficient with project management requirements for specifications, estimating, purchasing requirements, budget control and forecasting spending. </li></ul> <p>It Would Be a Plus If You Also Possess Previous Experience In:</p> <ul> <li>Multi-disciplined, ability to wear multiple hats but able to go deep when needed. </li><li>Ability to Influence without authority. </li><li>Integrated uncoated freesheet experience. </li><li>International experience and cultural agility. </li><li>Willingness to travel and work flexible hours across time zones </li><li>Located near a Sylvamo facility would be a plus. </li><li>Prio experience working directly with the Sylvamo sites. </li><li>Self-starter able to gain trust of global mills quickly. </li></ul> <p>COMPETENCIES</p> <ul> <li>Agile </li><li>Customer Focused </li><li>Business Savvy </li><li>Development minded </li><li>Succeed Together </li><li>Humble </li><li>Inclusive and Collaborative </li><li>Operationally Excellent </li></ul>
