<p>Job Description:</p> <p>EdAdvance is one of Connecticut's six Regional Educational Service Centers (RESCs). EdAdvance is also a partner in the RESC Alliance and works collaboratively with the other RESC groups to support state-wide initiatives.</p> <p>Mission</p> <p>EdAdvance, exists to promote the success of school districts and their communities.</p> <p>EdAdvance is redefining what a Regional Education Service Center can be using a systemic approach - grounded in the "3C's", Connection Culture, and Customization. Focused on local and regional priorities, we are reinvesting the expertise, energy, and resources of the agency to amplify the benefit of our constituents.</p> <p>BASES (Before and After School Extended Services)</p> <p>Site Coordinator/Head Teacher (Job ID 1201)</p> <p>Full Time - Split Shift (onsite: 6:45-9:00am and 3:15-6:00pm, plus 1 hour off-site planning per day)</p> <p>Located in Newtown at Hawley Elementary School</p> <p>Job Description: EdAdvance is seeking a qualified applicant to work in the BASES (Before and After School Extended Services) Before and After School Program in Newtown. The qualified candidate will be professional, have experience working with elementary school aged children, posses strong communication and interpersonal skills, and be available during before school hours (6:45am-9:00am) and after school hours (3:15pm-6:00pm). The Site Coordinator works under the supervision of the BASES Administrative Team.</p> <p>Major Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Site Coordinator supervises and organizes site operation of before and after school program on a daily basis </li><li>Supervise children and provide a safe, welcoming environment </li><li>Maintain positive relationships with families, children, and school personnel </li><li>Know and follow Office of Early Childhood Child Care Center licensing regulations </li><li>Maintain student registrations and paperwork </li><li>Set up and clean up of program site </li><li>First Aid/CPR/Meds Admin certification to be acquired within 3 months of hire </li><li>Other duties as may be assigned </li><li>Regular and consistent attendance is considered an essential function of this position </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Requires at least 12 credits in Early Childhood Education or related field or the ability to complete OEC Head Teacher Certification Course (approx. 40 hours online) </li><li>At least 540 hours experience working with School Aged Children </li><li>Knowledge of Child Development </li><li>Awareness of Age-Appropriate curriculum activities </li><li>Good verbal and interpersonal communication skills </li><li>Good supervisory skills </li><li>Ability to maintain a positive work environment for staff and children </li></ul> <p>Physical Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Must be able to stand for entire shift and move through program space (indoor and outdoor) with students. </li></ul> <p>Application Procedure:</p> <p>Applications should be submitted for consideration by visiting EdAdvance's employment page at, http://edadvance.org/about-us/employment, and click on the APPLY button next to the job posting of interest.</p> <p>EdAdvance does not discriminate in any of its programs, activities or employment practices on the basis of race, color, national origin, ancestry, sex, religion, age, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, disability, veteran, marital or familial status, pregnancy, genetic information, or status as a domestic violence victim, (along with any other classification protected by law).
