Shape your future in a career that empowers you to make a difference and thrive in a collaborative, purpose-driven environment.</p> <p>Work as a crew member operating City vehicles and equipment and performing tasks associated with the maintenance and repair of City infrastructure such as roadways, storm water facilities, and sidewalks.</p> <p>Starting Pay: $19.00 per hour</p> <p>Schedule: Seasonal, four 10-hour shifts per week, Monday - Thursday</p> <p>Job Posting Close Date: Open until filled</p> <p>Full-time employment opportunities may be available for seasonal employees throughout the season.</p> <p>Essential Duties and Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Perform maintenance and repair activities on City infrastructure including, but not limited to; patch and repair potholes, assist in laying of asphalt, assist in application of slurry seal, litter removal and weed control in public rights-of-way, tree trimming, cleaning of storm drains, grates, ditches and basins, removing and replacing sidewalk and curb and gutter. </li><li>Learn and follow department policies and procedures governing safety and work performed. </li><li>Complete confined space training. </li><li>Demonstrate individual responsibility for safety of self and crew members. </li><li>Listen and ask for clarification, use feedback to improve skills. </li><li>Keep track of own work schedule and fill out timecard. </li><li>Other duties may be assigned. </li></ul> <p>Requirements</p> <ul> <li>Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, work effectively with others, work long hours in stressful weather conditions. </li><li>Ability to react to change productively and perform other tasks as assigned. </li><li>Willingness to learn new skills and accept assignments with a positive attitude. </li></ul> <p>Certificates, Licenses, Registrations</p> <ul> <li>Valid Utah driver's license. </li></ul> <p>Language Skills</p> <ul> <li>Must be able to communicate effectively in English both verbally and in writing. </li></ul> <p>Physical Demands</p> <ul> <li>Ability to perform heavy physical labor for extended periods of time in all types of weather conditions. </li></ul> <p>Work Environment</p> <ul> <li>Frequently subject to extreme weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain and snow. </li><li>Frequent exposure to dust, fumes, hot asphalt and road improvement materials. </li><li>Subject to moderate noise levels. </li><li>Exposure to moderate physical hazards in the performance of projects and maintenance. </li><li>Exposure to intermittent stress due to human behavior and job tasks. </li></ul> <p>If you are reading this and hesitating to click "apply" because you do not check every box in the posting, we encourage you to go for it!
