<p>Position Profile</p> <p>This is a Senior Manager role responsible for first-line management of a team of highly skilled engineers, scientists, and lab technicians engaged in the design, analysis, and testing of advanced, complex systems and products. This position oversees a department including Principal, Advisory, and Senior Engineers, and supports project integration and validation across hardware, software, and cloud applications.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Lead and manage technical staff involved in design, development, testing, and validation of complex systems. </li><li>Establish and implement departmental policies and procedures. </li><li>Contribute to development of company-wide strategies, goals, and objectives. </li><li>Collaborate with customers and stakeholders to gather requirements and develop technical solutions. </li><li>Actively engage in technical design and troubleshooting, ensuring system performance and quality. </li><li>Communicate effectively with all levels of internal and external stakeholders, including executive leadership. </li><li>Support IP development by documenting results, preparing technical papers, and submitting disclosures. </li><li>Oversee budget planning and management for expenses, capital investments, and personnel. </li><li>Attend technical conferences and customer meetings as needed. </li><li>Ensure alignment with quality standards and technical requirements. </li><li>Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent experience. </li><li>Proven experience managing software engineering teams, including goal setting, performance evaluation, and recruitment. </li><li>Experience in test engineering and quality assurance. </li><li>Broad technical knowledge including advanced systems design, cloud technologies, and software engineering practices. </li></ul> <p>Knowledge, Skills & Abilities</p> <ul> <li>Deep understanding of quality assurance processes and Agile methodologies. </li><li>Proficient in Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence, Jira Align, JPD). </li><li>Familiarity with automation tools and integration techniques for complex codebases. </li><li>Hands-on experience with cloud technologies, preferably AWS. </li><li>Exposure to Machine Learning (ML) and Artificial Intelligence (AI). </li><li>Knowledge of print quality, color science, and related tools. </li><li>Experience managing lab operations and inventory. </li><li>Ability to support field operations and customer-facing environments. </li></ul> <p>Working Conditions, Mental and Physical Demands</p> <ul> <li>Must be able to manage job-related stress and workload effectively. </li><li>May be exposed to regulated environments involving dust, fumes, or chemical agents. </li><li>Must be adaptable to overtime, out-of-town travel, and evolving work assignments. </li><li>Ability to manage multiple tasks and communicate clearly in both written and verbal form. </li><li>Willingness to collaborate and maintain positive relationships with team members, leadership, and clients. </li><li>Must be proactive in learning new systems and taking ownership of responsibilities. </li></ul> <p>Ricoh is an EEO/Affirmative Action Employer - Minorities/Women/Protected Veterans/Disabled</p>
