<p>Pay Rate: $23.50 an hour</p> <p>ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES</p> <ul> <li>Assist the Captain in the navigation and operation of the vessel abiding by Coast Guard regulations </li><li>Become familiar with all aspects of the vessel to ensure continuity of operation if he/she must assume command </li><li>Direct fire, rescue and safety teams at the scene of any accident </li><li>Ensure vessel environment is maintained in a clean and safe condition at all times </li><li>Responsible for line handling during departure and arrival, lifting the anchor and ensuring that the freshwater tank is filled before each cruise departs </li><li>Responsible for taking the pump out of the tank between trips </li><li>Assist the crew in serving, cleaning and stocking the boat </li></ul> <p>KNOWLEDGE AND CERTIFICATION, SKILLS AND ABILITIES</p> <p>Required Knowledge and Certification:</p> <ul> <li>High school diploma / GED or equivalent experience </li><li>One (1) to three (3) years' maritime experience OR one (1) year mechanical experience preferred but not required </li></ul> <p>Required Skills:</p> <ul> <li>Accurate and detail-oriented </li><li>Highly organized and ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities </li><li>Strong mechanical aptitude </li><li>Strong leadership skills </li><li>Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to effectively understand and convey information to others </li><li>Strong conflict resolution skills </li></ul> <p>Required Abilities:</p> <ul> <li>Ability to work fast and efficiently completing multiple tasks in a professional manner </li><li>Ability to follow established dress code policies and practice good personal hygiene </li><li>Ability to interact with guests, coworkers and management in a professional and courteous manner </li><li>Ability to serve both internal and external customers </li><li>Ability to maintain a professional demeanor </li></ul> <p>PHYSICAL DEMANDS</p> <ul> <li>Must be able to sit for long periods of time with moderate amounts of walking and standing </li><li>Must be willing to work in extreme temperatures and weather conditions </li><li>Must have a good sense of balance, and be able to bend and kneel </li><li>Must be able to reach and twist routinely </li><li>Must be able to push, pull and grasp objects routinely </li><li>Must have the ability to independently lift 25+ pounds occasionally </li></ul> <p>WORKING ENVIRONMENT</p> <ul> <li>Work is performed primarily outdoors with exhaust fumes, but may require going onto the gaming floor, which includes flashing lights, frequent loud noises and cigarette smoke </li><li>Required to work in extreme weather(hot and cold) such as wet, damp and high wind </li><li>Must be able to work in cramped, tight quarters </li><li>Must be willing to work a flexible schedule including all shifts, weekends and holidays </li><li>High volume direct public contact </li></ul>
