<p>ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES</p> <ul> <li> <p>Supervise Load Builders and Drivers</p> </li><li> <p>Set expectations, measure and track performance.</p> </li><li> <p>Manage and dispatch deliveries.</p> </li><li> <p>Assigns deliveries according to factors such as length and purpose of trip, freight requirements, and preference of customer.</p> </li><li> <p>Watches time of departure, destination, cargo, and expected time of return for all deliveries.</p> </li><li> <p>Confers with Assistant GM and/or Customers to expedite or locate missing, misrouted, delayed, or damaged deliveries.</p> </li><li> <p>Follow DOT guidelines for deliveries and maintenance. Maintain a list of current assets and maintenance of those assets.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintains record of mileage, fuel used, repairs made, and other expenses.</p> </li><li> <p>Manage incoming deliveries.</p> </li><li> <p>Oversee and coordinate facility maintenance.</p> </li><li> <p>Be a part of different groups, such as the local safety committee, to ensure we have a fully functioning, safe facility, for everyone to work at.</p> </li><li> <p>Identify technical and operational training needs and recommend operational improvements.</p> </li><li> <p>Contacts supply storekeeper to verify availability of parts and equipment to ensure scheduled work performance.</p> </li><li> <p>Receives check in calls from delivery workers by radio, telephone, or in person.</p> </li><li> <p>Assigns orders to lift operators to be pulled from inventory.</p> </li><li> <p>Work with Assistant GM to keep warehouse organized and the proper inventory on-hand.</p> </li><li> <p>Other duties as assigned.</p> </li></ul> <p>SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES</p> <p>Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include setting expectations, measuring success/opportunities for growth, interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.</p> <p>MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS</p> <p>To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.</p> <p>Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.</p> <p>COMPETENCIES</p> <ul> <li>Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. </li><li>Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. </li><li>Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. </li><li>Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. </li><li>Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. </li><li>Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. </li><li>Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. </li></ul> <p>WORK ENVIRONMENT / PHYSICAL ACTIVITY</p> <p>The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
