<p>Summer Associate-Program Coordinator Muskogee Community Band</p> <p>The Muskogee Community Band works to increase access to music education for K-12 students, particularly those from low-income households who may not have the financial means to obtain instruments or participate in band programs. Lack of access to arts education can limit opportunities for skill development, school engagement, and personal growth. This project addresses those barriers by providing instrument loans and structured programming that enable students to participate fully in music education. Through the instrument lending program, students gain access to essential resources needed to join school and community band activities, supporting continued participation in school-based programs. Summer programming provides additional opportunities for skill-building, practice, and performance in a supportive environment. Participation in music education is associated with improved academic engagement, discipline, and confidence, all of which contribute to long-term educational success and economic mobility. Further help on this page can be found by clicking here.</p> <p>Member Duties : Summer Associates will assist with summer programming and support the instrument lending program by organizing and reconciling instrument inventory, coordinating minor repairs and maintenance, and assisting with distribution and return of instruments. Members will also support outreach efforts and program activities to ensure students can access and participate in band programming.
