<p>Overview The Resource Assistant assumes a central role in the ongoing development and implementation of school wide behavior management program and policies; provides non-professional counseling to students. Maintains a safe learning environment for students within the scope of the Arrow Center for Education Schools administrative policies and procedures. Supervises students in activities in order to observe or effect changes in their social behavior. This is to include teaching rules and social manners in interpersonal relationships and supervising the child's personal care. Develops counseling skills under their supervision, with an emphasis on promoting physical and emotional well-being of all students. Provides a consistent and reliable supportive presence in the school. Completes all assigned paperwork to accurately record student progress, including the Resource Room/Support Room documentation, and Incident Reports. Participates as an active member of the Treatment Team. Observes, evaluates and communicates all appropriate information, orally and in writing. Assists in modeling of aggressive behaviors management techniques as indicated by Arrow Center for Education Schools Policies and Procedures. Provides effective crisis management. Assists in safe and timely transition to and from transportation providers. Assists in the development and maintenance of a positive school culture. Maintains proper rules, safety and security of students, providing crisis intervention when necessary. Informs the Principal of all relevant situations. Attends trainings and meetings as required. Shares/transmits the mission and vision of Arrow Child & Family Ministries to staff and to students and families served. Perform all duties within contract, state and federal regulations, Arrow policy, and COA standards. May be required to drive ACFM vehicles, be insurable with our auto insurance provider, and complete Arrow's vehicle training. Qualifications High School diploma or GED and at least one (1) year experience working with children and families (preferably in a school setting) required.</p>
