<p>Overview</p> <p>The Opportunity:</p> <p>General Dynamics Electric Boat, the world's foremost designer and builder of nuclear submarines, is seeking an IT Business Analyst to join the organization within the Information Technology (EBIT) Department. The current business needs and demands are ever rapidly changing and require an agile, flexible, analytical candidate to join EBIT.</p> <p>Position Summary:</p> <p>In the IT Business Analyst position, you will be expected to ask questions, communicate openly, and get out of your seat and comfort zone. While this is NOT a Software Development role, the successful candidate will possess the technical aptitude required to work closely with Software Developers.</p> <p>The responsibilities of the IT Business Analyst will include, but are not limited to, the following:</p> <ul> <li>Analyze and learn business software and processes </li><li>Understand and translate business needs into system requirements </li><li>Investigate data to understand and document issues/enhancements </li><li>Work with various software development teams to drive implementation of innovative software solutions </li><li>Drive cross functional teams and challenge the status quo </li><li>Manage project schedules, resources, and budgets </li><li>Utilize verification and validation techniques to ensure software deliverables are high quality and meet customer needs </li><li>Provide IT SME support towards highly visible or critical production issues </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Required:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree </li><li>5+ years of business analyst experience </li><li>3+ years of experience with requirements gathering </li><li>2+ years of experience with Agile development concepts </li><li>Experience with Power BI </li></ul> <p>Preferred:</p> <ul> <li>Master of Business Administration, Business Analytics </li><li>Experience with Jira or other Atlassian products </li><li>Experience in writing SQL queries to interrogate intricate details of large datasets </li></ul> <p>Skills</p> <ul> <li>Be willing to learn / open-minded </li><li>Be self-motivated and ambitious </li><li>Have well-developed interpersonal and communication skills </li><li>Have critical thinking and problem solving skills </li><li>Have good attention to detail </li><li>Have strong oral and written skills </li><li>Be organized, with good planning skills </li><li>Have project management skills </li><li>A forward thinking mindset to proactively identify opportunities to streamlines processes, improve data integrity and enhance system performance </li></ul> <p>Environmental Attributes</p> <p>Cold, Hot, Inside, Noise, Outside</p>
