This role is an all-rounder support position responsible for assisting across the unwind, rewind, print units, changeover preparation, housekeeping, and preventive maintenance activities.</p> <p>The Assistant Operator plays a critical part in maintaining flow, reducing downtime, and preparing for upcoming jobs.</p> <p>SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITY:</p> <ul> <li>Facilitate quick changeovers by staging sleeves, anilox, inks, coatings, and tooling </li><li>Clean and prepare units that are not in use and set them up for the next job </li><li>Assist in plate and sleeve handling as directed by the Press Team </li><li>Support Second Press Operator tasks when required to maintain continuous operation </li><li>Clean anilox rolls as they are removed from the press before placing them in the cart. </li><li>Adjust to and follow new procedures and innovations, which would add to the efficiency and safety of the operation </li><li>Effectively utilizes downtime (not including approved breaks) by assisting with set-up or performing other tasks associated with maintaining a clean work environment or as otherwise instructed by a supervisor </li><li>Communicate with other team members </li><li>Wears appropriate PPE for the task and the area. </li><li>Welcomes updates and improvements to processes and follows new procedures and innovations, which would add to the efficiency and safety of the operation </li><li>Performs work in a manner that keeps down time to a minimum </li><li>Maintains a clean work environment in accordance with Food Safety and 5S systems </li><li>Follows all safety related policies, rules, regulations, technical instructions, and guidelines. Use situational awareness and identify unsafe behaviors and conditions </li><li>May be asked to help with duties in other areas or departments </li><li>Performs other duties as assigned </li></ul> <p>AUTHORITY: The Operator must have the ability to perform Second Press operator duties when needed to execute the demands of the printing operation efficiently and to respond to oral instructions from his/her supervisor and other written instructions.</p> <p>QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <p>EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have basic computer skills and possess ability to utilize software. Must have mechanical ability and skills.</p> <p>LANGUAGE SKILLS: Must have the ability to read and understand documents, letters, etc. and write legibly in English.
