<p>Job Title: COOK</p> <p>Department: DIETARY</p> <p>Date Prepared: 1/15</p> <p>FLSA Status: NON-EXEMPT</p> <p>Position Summary:</p> <p>The cook assists with preparing menus, inventory control, and</p> <p>maintains a clean or organized safe kitchen environment. This</p> <p>position is responsible for preparing the food in an appetizing and</p> <p>appealing manner.</p> <p>Essential Functions:</p> <p>Identify and report food and supplies needed for the next week's</p> <p>menus</p> <p>Assist in the receiving, rotation, and storage of products</p> <p>Prepare menus and cook food in accordance with nutritional</p> <p>guidelines, regulations, and residents' individual prescribed diets</p> <p>and food preferences</p> <p>Assist in fostering residents' independence with eating by</p> <p>providing adaptive equipment when needed</p> <p>Assist in fostering residents' independence with eating by</p> <p>providing adaptive equipment when needed</p> <p>Prepare food and coordinate food services for special community</p> <p>events when requested</p> <p>Notify Dir. of Food and Beverage or any malfunctioning kitchen</p> <p>equipment or appliances</p> <p>Ensure proper storage and handling of food in accordance with</p> <p>infection control standards</p> <p>The ability to work in a safe and alert manner</p> <p>The ability to take ownership for associate's safety and the</p> <p>safety of the residents</p> <p>Must disclose any medication that might impair associate's</p> <p>ability to perform the job safely or competently.</p> <p>Non-Essential Functions:</p> <p>Leads by example exhibiting the CORE Values through servant</p> <p>leadership</p> <p>Encourages teamwork and promotes company philosophy</p> <p>Attends required community meetings and participates Life</p> <p>Enrichment activities when able</p> <p>Completes all required courses in adherence with HRA University</p> <p>Is prompt and able to perform the required duties of the position on</p> <p>a regular, predictable basis</p> <p>2</p> <p>Becomes familiar and understands how to report a missing person</p> <p>using the Safe Return program or equivalent</p> <p>Becomes familiar and understands the steps for fire evacuation</p> <p>All associates are responsible for maintaining a safe and secure</p> <p>environment for all community residents</p> <p>Qualifications/Skills/Educational Requirements:</p> <p>Must have a high school education</p> <p>Experience in cooking for large groups a plus</p> <p>Certified in food-preparation training preferred</p> <p>Knowledge of state food-handling and kitchen regulations</p> <p>Knowledge of OSHA Standards and fire and safety procedures</p>
