<p>Job Description:</p> <p>Reed Intermediate School</p> <p>Anticipated Vacancy</p> <p>Intermediate School Assistant Principal</p> <p>Vacancy: Assistant Principal</p> <p>Salary: As Per Administrator's Contract</p> <p>Starting Date: On or about August 11, 2025</p> <p>Qualifications: The ideal candidate will:</p> <ul> <li>Hold valid CT Administrator Certification (092) </li><li>Have previous leadership and administrative experience (preferred) </li><li>Have at least 5 years teaching experience at the elementary and/or intermediate level </li></ul> <p>Required Strengths: Proven leadership ability</p> <p>Knowledge of effective teaching practices and current pedagogy</p> <p>Strong communication, management, and organizational skills</p> <p>Understanding of Restorative Practices and a desire to partner with students and families regarding discipline</p> <p>Understanding of effective social and emotional (SEL) practices for intermediate students</p> <p>Ability to self-evaluate and reflect with regard to leadership practices, performance, and professional growth</p> <p>Responsibilities: Assists the principal with the supervision and evaluation of staff</p> <p>Works with staff, students and families to support student discipline/behavior concerns</p> <p>Participates in PPT, 504, and MTSS meetings in partnership with staff and families</p> <p>Supports building operations such as student safety, scheduling, and curriculum implementation</p> <p>Additional duties assigned by the building principal</p> <p>Selection Procedures:</p> <p>Application screening, several levels of interviews, including district committee, Superintendent of Schools, and the Board of Education.</p> <p>Application Deadline: Open Until Filled</p> <p>To Apply: http://www.applitrack.com/newtown/onlineapp/</p> <p>The Newtown Public School District values the benefits that a diverse workforce brings to our students and community.
