<p>Department</p> <p>Florida State University Schools</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Lead and supervise all aspects of the Swim & Dive program (Middle School, JV, and Varsity levels) </li><li>Plan and conduct practices, conditioning sessions, and skill development activities </li><li>Develop training plans that promote athlete safety, technique, and competitive growth </li><li>Schedule competitions in accordance with FHSAA guidelines and school policies </li><li>Monitor and support student-athlete academic progress and eligibility </li><li>Establish effective communication with student-athletes, parents, administration, and staff </li><li>Coordinate meet logistics, transportation, and supervision in alignment with FSUS policies </li><li>Promote the program through school communication, social media, and community engagement </li><li>Organize team events, awards, and end-of-season recognition </li><li>Manage equipment, facility needs, and program inventory </li><li>Ensure compliance with FHSAA rules, district regulations, and FSUS clearance procedures </li><li>Assist with off-season development and program growth initiatives </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>High School Diploma or equivalent </li><li>Valid State of Florida Coaching Certificate (or ability to obtain) </li><li>Current certifications in CPR, First Aid, Concussion in Sports, and Sudden Cardiac Arrest (required prior to season) </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Experience working with children and young adults in an educational or athletic setting </li><li>Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills </li><li>Previous swim and/or dive coaching experience at the high school or club level </li><li>Knowledge of FHSAA rules and interscholastic athletics </li><li>Lifeguard certification </li><li>College coursework or degree in Education, Kinesiology, Sports Management or related field </li><li>Experience with meet management systems and athlete development </li></ul> <p>Other Information</p> <p>Florida State University Schools is seeking a dedicated and student-centered Head Swim & Dive Coach to lead and grow our middle school and high school swim and dive program.
