<p>Primary Duties & Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Works on assignments that are semi-routine in nature where ability to recognize deviation from accepted practice is required </li><li>Work with free-space optical components </li><li>Mind-set to constantly pursue the basic understanding or root cause of problems and to continually improve. </li><li>Detail oriented with well refined troubleshooting skills and techniques while working under minimal supervision. </li><li>Self-motivation and the ability to maintain effectiveness in working several tasks in parallel while bringing each to conclusion, in a timely manner. </li><li>Personal time management and organizational skills. </li><li>Strong communication and interpersonal skills. </li><li>Learns quickly and demonstrates aptitude for growth and development </li><li>Responsive and reliable - Can be counted on by others. </li><li>Participate in the Identification of creative solutions/approaches to problems </li><li>Operate laser beam analyzers, optical power meters, power supplies and oscilloscopes </li><li>Support Lean Initiatives including 3S weekly & 6S monthly activities. </li><li>Ensure a safe work environment and cultivate safe behaviors </li><li>Other duties as business needs require </li></ul> <p>Education & Experience</p> <ul> <li>Technical Associates degree or Certificate in Laser Electro Optics or related discipline + 0 years of experience --- OR --- 1+ years of closely related opto-mechanical, electronics assembly, or test experience </li><li>Mechanical and Electrical Assembly experience required </li></ul> <p>Skills</p> <ul> <li>Ability to follow work instructions, interpret optical and electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, engineering plans and specifications as required </li><li>Approximately 4 years' experience with hand tools and power tools, soldering equipment, vacuum systems, and electrical equipment </li><li>Requires experience in testing digital and/or analog systems </li><li>Ability to read drawings and use measurement instruments </li><li>Knowledge of laser components preferred </li><li>Experience with Microsoft Office applications (Excel) required </li><li>Ability to work on assignments that are moderately difficult, requiring sound judgment in trouble shooting, resolving issues and the ability to provide recommendations </li><li>Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment </li><li>Ability to effectively interact with cross-functional groups </li><li>Ability to work with minimal supervision </li></ul> <p>Physical Requirements</p> <ul> <li>Ability to lift ~ 50lbs on occasion </li></ul> <p>Safety Requirements</p> <p>All employees are required to follow the site EHS procedures and Coherent Corp.
