This position can potentially sit in any of the counties listed.</p> <p>This position requires a criminal background check. Therefore, you may be required to provide information about your criminal history in order to be considered for this position.</p> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Education and Experience: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree and experience equivalent to two years of full-time professional work in one or a combination of the following: academic teaching; educational administration; development of instructional materials for academic programs; or training.</p> <p>Substitution of Education for Experience: Additional graduate course work in one or a combination of the following may be substituted for the required experience on a year-for-year basis, to a maximum of two years: (1) Human Resources Management; (2) Industrial/Organizational Psychology; or (3) any field related to the design or evaluation of curriculum and related instructional processes, including, but not limited to Curriculum and Instruction, or Educational/Instructional Media Design, Educational Evaluation, Research, and Statistics. (e.g., 36 graduate quarter hours may be substituted for one year of required experience).</p> <p>Substitution of Experience for Education: Any teaching or training experience, or any remaining professional experience may be substituted for the required education, on a year-for-year basis, to a maximum of four years.</p> <p>Substitution for Specialized Experience: Four years of full-time professional work in the subject matter of instruction may be substituted for the two years of specialized experience.</p> <p>Applicant must successfully become certified as a facilitator by the Department of Human Resources within six months of hire.</p> <p>OR</p> <p>One year of professional experience in delivering workforce training with the State of Tennessee.</p> <p>Necessary Special Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Positions within DHS may be required to: </li><li>Complete a criminal history disclosure form in a manner approved by the appointing authority; </li><li>Agree to release all records involving their criminal history to the appointing authority; </li><li>Supply a fingerprint sample prescribed by the TBI based criminal history records check. </li></ul> <p>Examination Method: Education and Experience, 100%, for Preferred Service positions.</p> <p>Overview</p> <p>Under general supervision, is responsible for professional training administrative work of average difficulty and supervisory work of routine difficulty; and performs related work as required. An employee in this class develops and delivers training, may manage the training activities for an operating department of state government, and typically supervises a small staff of professional training employees. This class differs from Training Specialist 2 in that the incumbent of the latter performs duties of lesser scope and complexity. This class differs from Training Officer 2 in that an incumbent of the latter either manages the training activities for a large operating department or facility with a highly developed training program, supervises a moderate-sized staff of professional training employees, or performs central personnel training coordinative and developmental work regarding major statewide training programs.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ol> <li> <p>Facilitates agency-specific training through various delivery methods to enhance employee and vendor development while ensuring compliance with laws and regulations. Delivers training to internal and external customers, develops or modifies training materials based on objectives and needs, applies adult learning principles, conducts training needs analyses, and develops evaluation tools to ensure training effectiveness.</p> </li><li> <p>Coordinates and organizes events like conferences, seminars, and workshops to enhance learning and development, including scheduling and reserving necessary sites and equipment.</p> </li><li> <p>Ensures compliance with agency standards by compiling information from internal databases, creating an optimal learning environment by verifying equipment functionality, setting up training locations with necessary arrangements, and ensuring materials and supplies are available for training events.</p> </li><li> <p>Enters necessary data into agency-specific tracking software and utilizes various office productivity tools to achieve agency goals. Obtains information from various sources to assess training needs and research relevant learning opportunities for agency-specific employee development.</p> </li><li> <p>Provides information to management for problem-solving and efficiency and recommends agency-specific contract vendors to meet customer needs.</p> </li><li> <p>Develops and maintains professional working relationships with internal and external customers and subordinates to enhance productivity and efficiency.</p> </li><li> <p>Performs employee evaluation process which involves reviewing job performance, providing feedback to improve and reinforce strengths, guiding staff to meet timeliness standards, and informing them about organizational culture, policies, procedures, workflow, task prioritization, documentation, and system usage for effective task performance.</p> </li><li> <p>May assist management in interviewing applicants to determine the best candidate to fill vacant positions.</p> </li></ol> <p>Competencies (KSA's)</p> <p>Competencies:</p> <ul> <li>Communicates Effectively </li><li>Instills Trust </li><li>Decision Quality </li><li>Customer Focus </li><li>Resourcefulness </li></ul> <p>Knowledge:</p> <ul> <li>Clerical </li><li>Customer and Personal Service </li></ul> <p>Tools & Equipment</p> <ul> <li>Personal Computer, Multi-Function Printer, Calculator </li><li>Projectors, Projector Screens, Interactive Whiteboards </li><li>Television, Speaker Systems, Video and Still Cameras </li><li>Telephone Systems </li><li>Laminator, Binding Machines </li></ul> <p>TN Driver Standards</p> <p>State of Tennessee positions that may involve driving responsibilities require candidates to meet the following minimum driver qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>A valid driver's license </li><li>For the past five years, the candidate's driver record must not have record of the following violations: driving under the influence (DUI), reckless driving, license suspension for moving violations, more than 4 moving violations. </li></ul> <p>Please include your Driver's License Information under the Licenses and Certifications section of your application.</p> <p>Agencies may allow an exception based on other factors.</p>
