Through housing, shelter, reentry, and supportive service programs, VOAUPNY empowers the most vulnerable members of our community.</p> <p>Position Title: Program Manager- Ithaca NY</p> <p>Department: Ithaca Housing</p> <p>Reports to: Ithaca Shelter Services Director</p> <p>Position Summary</p> <p>The Program Manager - Shelter Services provides operational leadership for VOAUPNY's Ithaca-based shelter programs, including the Ithaca Code Blue Shelter. The Program Manager is responsible for overseeing daily shelter operations, supervising front-line staff, supporting clients in connecting to resources, and ensuring a safe, trauma-informed environment. This position requires flexibility, as the work schedule will primarily cover evening and overnight shifts, with weekend availability a must.</p> <p>This role reports directly to the Ithaca Shelter Services Director.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Manage the daily operations of the Ithaca Shelter and Code Blue Shelter, ensuring safety, cleanliness, and compliance with agency and regulatory standards. </li><li>Supervise, schedule, and support residential aides, case managers, and other program staff. </li><li>Provide guidance in client service delivery, including intake, case planning, crisis intervention, and referrals. </li><li>Support staff in addressing guest needs related to housing, mental health, substance use, and other barriers to stability. </li><li>Monitor data collection and reporting to ensure compliance with funder and agency requirements. </li><li>Assist with program budget management and resource allocation. </li><li>Ensure program practices reflect Housing First, harm reduction, and trauma-informed approaches. </li><li>Collaborate with community partners, law enforcement, health providers, and other stakeholders to enhance services. </li><li>Participate in on-call rotation to provide support during after-hours situations. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in human services, Social Work, Psychology, or related field required; Master's degree preferred. </li><li>Minimum of 3 years of experience in shelter, housing, or human services, with at least 2 years of supervisory experience. </li><li>Knowledge of homelessness services, crisis intervention, and trauma-informed care required. </li><li>Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. </li><li>Ability to manage a diverse team and resolve conflicts effectively. </li><li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office and client data management systems. </li><li>Flexibility to work evenings, overnights, and weekends as needed. </li><li>Commitment to VOAUPNY's mission and values. </li></ul> <p>Benefits</p> <ul> <li>Annual salary: $67500 - $70,000 </li><li>Medical, dental, and vision insurance </li><li>Retirement plan </li><li>Paid time off and holidays </li><li>Training and professional development opportunities </li></ul> <p>PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS</p> <p>The physical demands and working conditions described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
