Bring your experience to Slomin's and continue your career with us!</p> <p>Job Qualifications and Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Hazardous Materials (HazMat) endorsement </li><li>Strong knowledge of Rhode Island roadways, towns, and delivery routes particularly in and around Providence </li><li>Ability to commute to or reside within a reasonable distance of Providence, RI </li><li>Proven leadership and managerial experience, with the ability to supervise, train, and motivate drivers and staff </li><li>Experience in fuel / oil delivery operations or a related logistics / transportation field preferred </li><li>Basic to intermediate mechanical knowledge of diesel trucks, including the ability to troubleshoot and perform minor repairs or coordinate maintenance </li><li>Strong organizational and scheduling skills, including route planning, dispatch coordination, and time management </li><li>Commitment to safety and regulatory compliance, including DOT and environmental regulations </li><li>Excellent communication skills, both with team members and customers </li><li>Ability to manage inventory levels, delivery schedules, and emergency service calls </li><li>Proficiency with dispatching software, GPS systems, and basic computer applications </li><li>Willingness to work extended hours / days during peak seasons (e.g., winter demand spikes) </li><li>Ability and willingness to operate company vehicles and perform deliveries as needed, including stepping in to drive routes during staffing shortages, peak demand, or emergency situations </li><li>Will need to train at the company headquarters on Long Island for a period of up to three (3) months </li><li>Must undergo a criminal background check.
