<p>Job Description:</p> <p>Dean College is looking for a dynamic, experienced, student-centered educator to teach courses in the Psychology program, including developmental/personality psychology. The successful candidate will teach an array of courses including Human Development: The Life Span, Child Development, Adolescent Development, General Psychology, Personality Theories, and others. The candidate should be a generalist who can teach a wide array of psychology courses.</p> <p>All School of Liberal Arts academic programs are grounded in the liberal arts, stress experiential learning, and seek to develop a career mindset in students to prepare them for life after Dean.</p> <p>Applications may be considered until the position is filled. Priority will be given to applications received by April 18, 2025.</p> <p>Position responsibilities include:</p> <ul> <li>Overall equivalent of 15 contact hours each semester. </li><li>Hold office hours as required and meet with students by appointment. </li><li>Coach and mentor students regarding academic and career goals including graduate school preparation. </li><li>Direct student research projects. </li><li>Participate in committees as assigned, attend school and program meetings. </li><li>Participate in recruitment activities and new student orientations. </li><li>There is no faculty advising load. Students are served by a professional advising staff. </li><li>Other duties as required or assigned. </li></ul> <p>Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>A PhD in Psychology is required, with a preferred emphasis in developmental psychology. </li><li>Full-time undergraduate teaching experience is preferred. </li><li>Demonstrated experience in curriculum development and innovative classroom pedagogy is a plus. </li><li>Candidates must have a demonstrated passion for teaching, for providing transformational learning experiences, and for teaching to a diverse population of undergraduates at varying stages of academic readiness. </li><li>Experience with course management systems (i.e., Canvas), digital technology, and Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Teams, Excel, Word, PowerPoint). </li><li>Experience teaching asynchronous, online courses is preferred. </li></ul> <p>Additional Information:</p> <p>Dean College is an equal-opportunity, Title IX institution and pledges to recruit, select and promote diversity by providing equality of opportunity in higher education for all persons, including faculty and staff with respect to hiring, continuation, promotion, and applicants for admission, enrolled students and graduates without discrimination or segregation.</p> <p>The College is interested in candidates who have the communication skills and cross-cultural abilities to maximize their effectiveness with diverse groups of colleagues, students, faculty, and community members.
