<p>The EMT-B/PTN functions on an ambulance performing prehospital emergency responses and interfacility transports normally as the part of a two-person care team. When paired with a Paramedic, the Paramedic would be responsible to direct the care of the patient and delegate as appropriate for the scope of practice. The two-person care team is responsible to assess and apply appropriate medical treatment protocols to care for the patient. The EMT-B directly reports to the Operations Manager which handles non-clinical job performance items. The EMT Basic provides patient care under the authority of the Medical Director and reports to the Clinical Manager for clinical care issues.</p> <p>POSITION SUMMARY Operates and maintains PTN vehicles in a safe and ready condition. Provides safe, quality care to ill or injured patients in prehospital or intrahospital setting. Document checks of </li></ol> <p>PTN vehicles and equipment every shift.</p> <ol start="8"> <li>Performs all other duties as assigned. </li></ol> <p>Job Requirements</p> <p>Education: High School diploma or equivalent</p> <p>Skills: Must interact well with people and be flexible in assuming a variety of tasks in a hospital</p> <p>and pre-hospital setting. Ability to work independently and make decisions away from the</p> <p>controlled hospital environment. Must be able to understand directions, communicate and</p> <p>respond to inquiries; requires effective interpersonal skills. Must be able to communicate</p> <p>effectively and have excellent public relations skills. Must be able to maintain composure and</p> <p>utilize tact in stressful situations. Must be able to read maps and follow directions. Must be able to</p> <p>input and retrieve information from computer.</p> <p>License: Must be a certified EMT Basic (EMT-B) in the state of Ohio. Michigan licensure must be</p> <p>obtained within 30 days of hire.</p> <p>Certification: Must be CPR certified. Must maintain a good driving record as required by PTN and</p> <p>PHS. Must obtain in (6) months of hire and maintain: BCLS, ITLS, PEPP.</p> <p>WORKING CONDITIONS</p> <p>Personal Protective Equipment: N/A</p> <p>Physical Demands: Must be able to tolerate exposure to dust, fumes, chemicals, temperature</p> <p>changes, and exposure to bloodborne pathogens and bodily fluids.
