<p>APPLICANTS MUST BE PERMANENT IN THE STOCK WORKER CIVIL SERVICE TITLE OR BE PERMANENT IN A COMPARABLE TITLE ELIGIBLE FOR 6.1.9 TITLE CHANGE.</p> <p>The New York City Department of Homeless Services (DHS) is the largest organization in the United States dedicated to preventing and addressing homelessness. In partnership with other City Agencies and Nonprofit organizations, DHS works to prevent homelessness before it begins, reduce street homelessness, provide temporary shelter, and connect individuals and families to stable housing with a focus on accountability, empathy, and equity.</p> <p>DHS is committed to continuous improvement and employs innovative strategies to deliver high-quality services that support a swift transition from shelter to self-sufficiency. The agency manages hundreds of facilities and operates with a large team as well as a several billion-dollar budget to meet the diverse needs of New Yorkers experiencing homelessness.</p> <p>The DHS Support Services Division provides facility infrastructure support to all DHS City owned buildings. Warehouse Operations consists of over 70,000 square feet of space, holding over 7,000 squarer feet of space, holding over 7,000 items.</p> <p>The NYC Department of Homeless Services (DHS) Support Services Division seeks is recruiting for one (1) Stock Worker who will:</p> <ul> <li>Receive, store, distribute and care for materials, supplies and equipment; may store tools. </li><li>Pack, unpack, count, weigh and measure materials, supplies and equipment. </li><li>Load and unload at the storehouse and at the point of pick-up, delivery, or distribution. For this purpose, may travel to point of pick-up, delivery or distribution. </li><li>Operate elevator and other necessary equipment to perform loading and unloading. </li><li>Check materials received against invoices and note breakage and discrepancies in quantity. </li><li>Pick supplies from shelves to fill requisitions, lifting and carrying supplies when necessary. </li><li>Operate electric transport and lift trucks. </li><li>Keep storage facilities and materials clean and orderly. </li><li>Keep records and assist in preparing inventories. </li></ul> <p>PROPOSED SALARY RANGE FOR THIS POSITION: $37,652 - $42,547.</p> <p>Hours/Schedule: Monday - Friday 7:30am - 3:30 pm.</p> <p>STOCK WORKER - 12200</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <p>Qualification Requirements</p> <p>There are no formal education or experience requirements for this position.</p> <p>55a Program</p> <p>This position is also open to qualified persons with a disability who are eligible for the 55-a Program. However, City Employees in certain titles who have worked for the City for 2 continuous years may also be eligible to reside in Nassau, Suffolk, Putnam, Westchester, Rockland, or Orange County.
