<p>Job Responsibilities</p> <p>Are you an experienced professional looking for new opportunities to further your career? Patriots Point Naval & Maritime Museum is seeking a hardworking and dependable candidate just like you to apply! This position will offer great benefits with the state, including 15 days of annual and sick leave per year or more depending on applicable state service.</p> <p>Perform skilled and semi-skilled duties to install and maintain HVAC systems in the ships, piers, and buildings of Patriots Point. Maintain qualifications and continuing education necessary to remain certified to effect repairs and replacements as needed in the maintenance of 127 shipboard units. The job duties of this position include but are not limited to the following:</p> <ul> <li>Performs necessary maintenance and troubleshooting on HVAC systems, to include repairing leaks, adjusting refrigerant levels, filter changes, and drain line cleaning. </li><li>Performs preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical systems, historic aircraft and wheeled vehicles as a co-joined member of team mechanical shop. </li><li>Adheres to all safety and environmental regulatory requirements pertaining to job duties. Maintain EPA licensing. </li><li>Performs other duties as assigned to accomplish the mission of the Agency. </li></ul> <p>Minimum and Additional Requirements</p> <p>High school diploma and experience in the installation and maintenance of HVAC systems or in the operation and maintenance of HVAC mechanical and building control systems. Relevant experience may be substituted for the required diploma on a year-for-year basis.</p> <p>ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:</p> <ul> <li>Knowledge and skills to correctly and safely perform skilled installation and maintenance on shipboard and landside HVAC systems. Knowledge of tools, equipment, materials and supplies used. Skill in the use of various trade tools and equipment. </li><li>Work with minimal supervision and have the ability to make on site assessments regarding repair methods and costs. Capable of installing new HVAC units when required with upgraded refrigerant. </li><li>Employee may be required to work after normal working hours, on weekends, holidays, emergencies, and/or special events. Employee is in a position designated as an "essential personnel," therefore, employee may be required to stay onboard USS Yorktown as part of an emergency crew during named storms to provide support during the storm, to conduct post-disaster damage assessment, and to take initial recovery actions following the storm. </li></ul> <p>Applicants indicating college credit or degree(s) on the application will be required to bring a copy of college transcript to the interview. A copy of the transcript may also be uploaded as an attachment to the application, if required by the hiring department or if desired by the applicant. Please note that some areas of the Agency may require an official, certified copy of the transcript prior to hiring or within a specific timeframe required by that area, after hiring.
