<p>Fleet Safety and Security Manager</p> <p>American Cruise Lines is seeking a shoreside Fleet Safety and Security Manager to work in our Guilford, CT office, supporting our growing cruise ship fleet sailing unique itineraries along rivers and coastal waterways of the East Coast, Pacific Northwest, Columbia-Snake Rivers, Great Lakes, and Mississippi-Ohio-Cumberland Rivers. Our ideal candidate should be experienced in coastal/river ship operations, and Coast Guard safety and security regulations, fundamental data entry, demonstrate poised negotiation tactics, exhibit excellent intrapersonal skills, and have relationship-building capacity. Our candidate should be a meticulous and disciplined task manager, prioritizing and delivering a fast-paced workflow. You oversee and execute fleet safety and security practices and programs keeping our guests, crews and ships sailing confidently. The position of Safety and Security Manager is a great opportunity to play an essential role in serving our crews and ships while directly contributing to the continued success of American Cruise Lines.</p> <p>Reporting to the VP of Marine Operations, the Manager supervises a Safety Coordinator and Security Video System Technician. The Manager oversees and executes a range of shipboard safety procedures and programs, intended to prevent incidents and minimize risk to our guests, crews, and ships. The Manager serves as Assistant Company Security Officer, overseeing and executing vessel security plans, procedures, and audits. The Manager communicates continually and travels regularly to oversee safety and security program execution across the fleet, achieving year-over-year safety and security risk reduction.</p> <p>The Manager oversees routine safety and security reporting to federal agencies. As well as also produces and assesses quarterly updates outlining the current status, future outlook, and proposed execution plan to minimize safety and security risk. The Manager completes monthly audits of 25% of fleet safety and security performance and compliance. Managers are detail-oriented and action-oriented professionals continually sustaining safe and secure fleet operations.</p> <p>At American Cruise Lines, we are driven by our values-Optimism, Commitment, Patriotism, and Merit. These values shape our culture, our service, and our people, guiding us as we work together to Share America's Story on the Finest American Ships.</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Oversee daily fleet execution and documentation of shipboard safety and security programs. </li><li>Execute fleet security programs to regulatory and industry best practice standards. </li><li>Implement and update Vessel Security Plans, Vessel Declarations of Security, and onboard security procedures. </li><li>Implement and update risk reduction and incident prevention practices within vessel procedures. </li><li>Complete preliminary incident assessments in a timely manner, identifying key facts and potential causes of incidents. </li><li>Oversee and audit required incident reporting to regulatory agencies. Oversee fleet documentation of incidents. </li><li>Implement and track approved follow-on actions, determined from incident assessments. </li><li>Chair cross-department fleet safety group assessing fleet procedures, practices, incidents, and actions. Build teamwork across Marine, Engineering, and Hotel department managers. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Maritime experience in operations, logistics, dispatching, or maintenance support. </li><li>100T Captain or Mate License (near coastal or inland) preferred. </li><li>Team-building experience, poised communications and problem-solving skills. </li><li>Proven multi-tasking and prioritization project execution skills. </li><li>Proven responsibility and discretion in handling sensitive personnel and security information. </li></ul> <p>Work Location, Routine Hours and Travel:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Experience as shipboard Deck and/or Engineer Officer.</p> </li><li> <p>Experience executing and/or supervising shipboard security and safety programs.</p> </li><li> <p>Desired Coast Guard experience executing and/or managing security and safety programs.</p> </li><li> <p>Experience with Microsoft Suite programs, documents, and calendars.</p> </li><li> <p>Poised communication and problem-solving skills.</p> </li><li> <p>Excellent intrapersonal and professional relationship-building skills.</p> </li><li> <p>Proven multi-tasking and prioritization project execution skills.</p> </li></ul> <p>Work Environment:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Daily in-person work at our Guilford, CT, office.</p> </li><li> <p>Periodic travel (7-10 days monthly) to company ships around the country and periodic regulatory meetings.</p> </li><li> <p>Professional fast-paced environment with a demanding time schedule.</p> </li></ul> <p>Why Join American Cruise Lines?</p> <p>At American Cruise Lines, our people are the driving force behind our success.
