Are you with us?!?</p> <p>Purpose:</p> <p>The Pulper Operator is responsible for the staging, set up and addition of raw materials used in the production on a nonwoven paper machine. Consistently monitor, identify and segregate any non-conforming raw materials and report such to the Machine Tender and/or Team Leader. Must perform all work safely and independently. Requires use of a forklift.</p> <p>Key Accountabilities/Essential Functions:</p> <ul> <li>Identify all equipment and systems related to raw material handling and processing and know their function in non-woven production. </li><li>Perform mathematical calculations; set up equations to determine timing and quantities of batches, etc. </li><li>Identify, segregate and label any non-conforming raw material. </li><li>Must pay undivided attention to quality </li><li>Responsible for the staging, preparation and addition of raw materials to the pulper for production. </li><li>Monitor all hydro-entanglement related filtration systems and report any issues to the Machine Tender and/or Supervisor. </li><li>Prioritize and complete multiple tasks with little or no supervision. </li><li>Safely and properly clean and maintain all required pulper, stock chests and related equipment. </li><li>Possess mechanical abilities to safely dismantle and re-assemble machine equipment related to machine clothing changes. </li><li>Follow all Ahlstrom Fiber Composites policies and procedures. </li><li>Perform other related projects and machine duties as assigned by Machine Tender and/or Supervisor. </li></ul> <p>Education, Technical Knowledge, Experience and Skill Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Possess a high school or equivalent education. </li><li>Math skills are required. Must be able to perform mathematical calculations to determine timing and quantities of batches. </li><li>Requires computer skills for machine systems </li><li>Ability to read, write and understand fluent English. </li><li>Minimum requirement of 2-4 years of manufacturing experience. </li><li>Previous non-woven machine experience preferred. </li><li>Must have knowledge of Ahlstrom Information Security policies and is for his/her own part responsible for ensuring information security when handling information and maintaining or using information systems or information networks </li><li>This position is additionally responsible as part of the manufacturing flexibility program to cross-train and be fully qualified to work in an at least one other alternate position within the manufacturing operation. </li></ul> <p>Physical Demands:</p> <ul> <li>Possess a high level of agility. </li><li>Ability to work safely in a hot and wet environment for extended periods of time. </li><li>Ability to work in confined spaces with all required P.P.E. </li><li>Ability to work in a hot environment </li><li>Ability to work rotating shifts. </li><li>Ability to lift a maximum of 50 lbs. </li></ul> <p>Ahlstrom is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
