<p>The Team</p> <p>At Upstart Auto Retail, we are creating a next gen auto retail lending platform from the ground up. The Auto Retail team operates with a startup mentality, and we are looking for our next designer. We need someone that is willing to push through problems quickly, be decisive, and utilize any resources available to create high quality products resulting in delightful customer experiences. As the Senior Product Designer, Auto Retail at Upstart, you will partner with product managers and engineers to shape a rapidly growing product that is being used on mobile, and desktop devices. You'll report directly to the Director of Product Design, and partner closely with another auto designer driving research and design strategy, and design execution across auto retail and lending.</p> <p>Position Location - This role is available in the following locations: Remote</p> <p>Time Zone Requirements - This team operates on the East/West Coast time zones.</p> <p>Travel Requirements - As a digital first company, the majority of your work can be accomplished remotely. The majority of our employees can live and work anywhere in the U.S but are encouraged to to still spend high quality time in-person collaborating via regular onsites. The in-person sessions' cadence varies depending on the team and role; most teams meet once or twice per quarter for 2-4 consecutive days at a time.</p> <p>How you'll make an impact:</p> <ul> <li>Lead the user experience of products end-to-end, including contributing to product strategy, design research, and measuring success of your shipped products </li><li>Explore complex, ambiguous problem spaces in the auto industry and collaborate with internal and external teams to wrap your head around customer and business problems </li><li>Push creative boundaries while simultaneously contributing to and helping manage our design system </li><li>Build and ship products that are unmatched in usability and function </li><li>Are able to conduct user research utilizing a variety of methods </li></ul> <p>What we're looking for:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Minimum requirements:</p> </li><li> <p>Have 7+ years of solving complex problems and use your refined design process to continuously improve product throughout its lifecycle</p> </li><li> <p>Are capable of diligently navigating the dynamic relationship between user needs and business requirements</p> </li><li> <p>Thrive in complicated problem spaces, and design UX flows utilizing your design thinking excellence</p> </li><li> <p>Think at a systems level and consider every touch point of the user journey</p> </li><li> <p>Value high quality well crafted visual design, and care deeply about the small details</p> </li><li> <p>Have ample experience shipping both enterprise and consumer facing products</p> </li><li> <p>Flexible and able to adapt in a fast paced environment</p> </li><li> <p>Must be comfortable with making product design decisions with limited and/or conflicting data</p> </li><li> <p>Preferred qualifications:</p> </li><li> <p>Experience designing for auto retail experiences including B2B and/or B2B2C</p> </li><li> <p>Experience in regulated industries such as fintech, healthcare, or enterprise software.</p> </li><li> <p>Deep understanding of accessibility, compliance, and regulated product design</p> </li><li> <p>Track record of improving product performance through design</p> </li><li> <p>Experience working within and contributing to design systems</p> </li><li> <p>Commitment to accessibility and inclusive design standards</p> </li></ul> <p>What you'll love:</p> <ul> <li>Competitive Compensation (base + bonus & equity) </li><li>Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage with Health Savings Account contributions from Upstart </li><li>401(k) with 100% company match up to $4,500 and immediate vesting and after-tax savings </li><li>Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP) </li><li>Life and disability insurance </li><li>Generous holiday, vacation, sick and safety leave </li><li>Supportive parental, family care, and military leave programs </li><li>Annual wellness, technology & ergonomic reimbursement programs </li><li>Social activities including team events and onsites, all-company updates, employee resource groups (ERGs), and other interest groups such as book clubs, fitness, investing, and volunteering </li><li>Catered lunches + snacks & drinks when working in offices </li></ul> <p>#LI-REMOTE</p> <p>#LI-MidSenior</p>
